Eurobricks 2025 Event Billund - General Discussion

First of all, sorry the late announcement. But as you probably experience yourself, life get's in the way sometimes. Or we simply prioritize incorrectly lol. Let me repeat the opening line in the last event's topic "Better late than never" 

I will add more information to this topic, but let me start by stating the most obvious....when is it taking place?

Wednesday the 30th of April 2025 - Sunday May the 4th 2025.

Wednesday and Sunday will be travel days, so we will try to plan the activities on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

I have created a Sign-up topic and Accomodation topic.

For those of you who are new; what do we usually do at an Eurobricks event? Well, depending on the location, this is more or less what you can expect...

• A visit to LEGOLAND
• A visit to The LEGO House
• Lots of fun activities like building contests (with prizes!)
• Lots of fun and laughter
• Annual rat spitting competition
• Optionally a visit to Lalandia for bowling, swimming, mini golf whatever
• And then some...

I would very much like to come, but I am going to have to look into travel from Copenhagen to Billund - new Danish aviation tax coming into effect March means there are no longer direct flights from my nearby airport to Billund and the cheapest flight requires me flying to Oslo, waiting around for nearly a full day and then flying to Billund! I think I saw there are trains from Copenhagen to Vejle though.

Another approach is to use Hamburg and then train to Vejle.

Or someone (... ) can pick you up in Hamburg. The airport is not a big detour coming from the south.

I probably have to look at if there are any new rules for little ol' me coming into the EU from outside. That is a task for after my trip to Manchester next week.

Yes there are direct trains from Copenhagen airport (CPH) to Vejle and the bus service from Vejle to Billund.

hope to see a lot of you folks. It has been a long time since we met.

I'm still not sure about joining this year.  Would be great to see you all.

We're planning a family trip to Gunzburg just a few days before, nothing is fixed, and it's even possible we won't go to Gunzburg. We moved recently, and more budget is currently allocated to finalizing the missing amenities at home. Meaning less budget for trips. I will look into travel possibilities, perhaps joining @Holodoc near Hamburg. But first I need to reach a decision regarding the family trip.

Oh, that would be great indeed to see you again.  So fingers crossed you can convince your family that visiting Denmark is good for the head of the family.  

If you need help travelling from Hamburg further, let me know.

Flying to Hamburg looks a lot more reasonable price wise for sure! Will DM you.

So one of the most complicated parts of my journey (Getting to Cardiff Airport) has been solved. My lovely friend said she can take me regardless of times  so I can easily get there now

Okay, Calanon will be travelling to Hamburg if I'm not mistaken. Just wanted to be sure.

So my flight gets in at 17:40 on the Wednesday. A little later than usual, which i am happy to trade getting up at the crack or pre-dawn, and also rushing though the airport to my connection!

We have been doing this for years! We will be doing some building, contests, visiting Legoland, etc. In the early days this used to be a really big event but lately the group is a bit smaller. Nonetheless great fun.
