Cardinal Brick Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Considering the rarity etc I don’t think they’re to badly priced, it’s just a shame I can’t afford any of them. Quote
Adam Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 But wait, there's MORE! Brand new, and for ONLY $213.00!! Buy now, and you'll only have to pay a MERE $12.00 in shipping.... Hee- opps, caught myself there! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 1, 2008 Author Governor Posted September 1, 2008 Well the larger Mint in Seal Box sets are rare collectors item these days so they're not going to come cheaply. 6278 Enchanted Island CLICK HERE to view the eBay Auction page. Quote
Adam Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 You can get it for about $40 on Bricklink, but that's a good deal, too. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 1, 2008 Author Governor Posted September 1, 2008 $40 on Brick Link? Which seller? According to this search there are no MISB Enchanted Islands for under US$95. You must be looking at the used sets... Anyway... Here's something only a collector could appreciate... 5058 Pirate Accessory Pack ULTRA RARE Quote
Trexxen Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Sigh...I lost a bid war for that. I wanted it for the parts...;_; ~Trexxen Quote
maiq the liar Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I don't see the point of MISB sets. why would you buy them? half the fun is to tear them open and build them. Quote
Capt. Bluebeard Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I don't see the point of MISB sets. why would you buy them? half the fun is to tear them open and build them. Some people like to buy MISB for one of these two reasons: a) They like to get their LEGO brand new (like me! ). b) They're hardcore collectors who must get their sets MISB, so as to maintain the "collector's value". Bluebeard, out- Quote
Dragonator Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I can't afford them at the moment, but I would love to buy some misb pirate sets! There's just something deeply satisfying about having such great sets in the same condition as when they were produced. I don't even know if I would open them, maybe just stare, and put away so I can stare again the next day. If I wanted to build it, then I'd just buy an already opened one. This is all assuming I had enough money of course. Oh well, I can still dream... Quote

samthelegoman1 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 If the ships cost that much, I'd just buy it used! Quote

Scouty Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 5058 Pirate Accessory Pack ULTRA RARE Only $12 for that?! Wow, what a bargain! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 7, 2008 Author Governor Posted October 7, 2008 Is that sarcasm ImperialShadows or have you seen one of those sell more for than $12? I believe I have. In fact, if I recall correctly I've seen one of these packs sell for over $20. Quote
The Rancor Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 (edited) I might just follow some of those auctions... Many thanks Mr Phes! How come one of the large 6278 Enchanted Islands has a weird (new looking) box? Edited October 7, 2008 by The Rancor Quote
Zorro Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 (edited) I might just follow some of those auctions... Many thanks Mr Phes! How come one of the large 6278 Enchanted Islands has a weird (new looking) box? I think it is because it is a re-release, you know, one of the "Legends" family. Also the BSB (Black dude's Barrackobama) has been re-released (in 2002). Err...i mean the Black seas barrackuda... Hopefully we get some new "Legends" soon...together with the new line as example ! Lego12 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Those sets are awesome! Sadly I don't have the money to buy them.... Quote

In fact, if I recall correctly I've seen one of these packs sell for over $20. I suppose you mean me. ImperialSCOUTS. S-C-O-U-T-S (I know, obnoxious ) It's not actually. I'd figured something like that would be higher. Twelve dollars is pretty sheap for a great pack like that. Shakos are around 4.25, last I checked. Each plume hefts about $.50 -$1.00, I think. Gold pieces around $.50-$.75. And a bunch of other stuff. I figure that it seems like a good deal. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 22, 2008 Author Governor Posted October 22, 2008 Well there's an Armada Sentry right now for about $10.50 - unlikely you'll see one at that price for a while so make the most of the opportunity. Quote
