Big Chess Set

I was in Milton Keynes yesterday and took some pictures of the box of the new large chess set. Thought you might like to see it.

This thing looks amazing. I'm going to have to figure out a way to add one of these to my lego chess set collection. I guess it's prebuilt though. I was kind of hoping that an expensive set like this would let you actually build it to get some joy out of it.

Is it pre-built? That kinda stinks...

I'd love to add or redo some of the pieces elements. Giant trolls as Bishops? Nah. Need to get an evil (maybe skeleton?) King in there. Love the rolling Skeleton rooks though!

My only fear is that soething could be glued..i'm certainly not hoping that Anywa<y i NEED this set, but nit's so damn expensive

I like the way the horses (Knights) are presented.

And the details in the corners of the chess set are great as well.

I think this is a great set.

Cheers for the pics, Brick Town Talk. It still looks great, it seems the figs are supposed to show through the gaps here. It doesn't have the bases they stand on though, just pictures of them beneath the holes, so I assume you do actually build them up.

Yes, i thought quite the same. If you remember, the boxes in the 90's also had some figures and parts on display if you opened it, maybe it's similar here.

Maybe you build the set then when you want to store it you have a special place in the box for each piece, thats the impression I got.

Yeah, I agree Johnny 5, I was wondering why those spaces were empty, and now I think about it, those probably are to store the pieces after you build them.
