I guess it's possible they do a Wayne Manor or something given the game is coming out

Yeah, I could see it being Wayne Manor. That would make sense when it comes to a Modular. If we get a DC modular next year, it's either gonna be Wayne Manor or Daily Planet, and I think the former is more likely. IDK if LEGO is confident to have a D2C Daily Planet on shelves even though everyone here would KILL for it. I was convinced they would be by now, but with the Mech retiring and Superman 2025 doing Fine Worldwide, I don't think those are signs pointing towards a Daily Planet.

As for the rumored June 2026 Batman set, I've said this before, but I could see a Batman vs Joker Mech Battle similar to the upcoming Spider-Man vs Doc Ock Mech set, and I could see that being the lone set we get for Batman in the Summer of 2026.

That’s fairly realistic, sadly. Though at this point, a Batman set that comes with any character beside Batsy himself can already be considered a win :snicker:

Batman vs Gold Batman mech battle

I got a promotional email from BBTS today showing off some of their bestsellers from the year, and I thought it was funny that the DC collection's bestseller thumbnail was 90% batmen figures. But even then, it was batman and his villains, and the different batsuits were actually different. I didn't know the specific ones, but there was a red and gold batsuit, a white batsuit covered in guns, a spiky batsuit. Compared to the wave we're getting in march, where it's five batman figures and four of them look pretty similar at first glance. It's not even that we only get batmen figures, it's that we only get batsuits, and even then mostly batsuits that aren't all that visually distinct. I'm not asking for the alien/alternate personality batman in red and purple, but at this point even an Arctic batman would be a win. At this point I'd consider the Batman Who Laughs a win, and I HATE the Batman Who Laughs.

You see. Instead of doing the singular gold Batman minifigure. I think Lego should have taken a quasi Ninjago 15th/ SW 25th Approach and done 5 exclusive Batman variants that we wouldn’t get otherwise: Superbat (World’s Finest), Dawnbreaker/ GL Batman (Dark Knights/ BatB), Red Death (Dark Knights), Flashpoint, Nightwing Batman (Knightfight) and Batman Beyond.

My candidate for a set like this

Absolute Batman riding Absolute Killer Croc against a Bane mech/ Buildable figure?

The year of having a Superman set on the shelves is officially over.

I think I‘ve brought it up before, but we have a saying in German that can best be translated with „the condemned live longer“. We all like to poke fun at the demise of the DC (or rather Batman) theme on a regular basis, me included, but they may still have a surprise or two for us in store. It‘s really hard not to be cynical about it, but miracles like Arkham do still happen

What I’m saying is that the era of Soup may not be over yet! It most likely is, but still, there is hope.

And here I was hoping that the Batsuit would be the new updated Battinson minifigure as a tie-in for the game, would've been a great way to get it for cheap. But nope, it's just the same ugly, all black Batsuit with the terrible cowl AND plastic cape to boot, a hat trick of disappointment. Looks like an easy pass for me.

I made the concept design for this set when I was an intern last year. If you want 2 figures, you won’t get an expensive updated figure. That’s just the way it is.

This is still better than the HP polybag which has a single fig, and that one's Generic Harry.

The name of the HP polybag, by the way, is "Dumbledore's Office with Harry Potter". It's like those "Batman vs Superman" and "Batman and Robin" batmobiles without Superman or Robin.

That Phoenix is just flat out ridiculous too.

It's supposed to be a baby phoenix and has actually been used as one before, but yeah.

Also Harry's short legs put the scene in first or second year and the phoenix should be an adult then (it only rejuvenates into a baby phoenix much later), so clearly its inclusion was a budget not a story decision.

Good to have this confirmed, it's something we'd suspected for awhile with stuff like the less detailed spider-man version in smaller sets.

We‘ll be getting another Technic Batmobile, this time the Tumbler yeayyyyyyyyy :laugh_hard:

This goes under the technic subline right? So we're likely also getting a non-technic large batmobile this year? (My guess is a UCS BTASmobile)

I wouldn’t say we’re likely to be getting anything else from this theme for the year. It could happen, but we don’t have any information indicating there’s any more sets on the immediate horizon.

Heh thank you I’ve been on the forums 9 years (I’m 22, oops) and I was an intern for 4 months in ‘24 in the DC/Marvel team

practically everything else I did is a secret but I’m super excited to finally talk about this polybag!

No problem, I may or may not be about the same age and nobody should look at how long I've been on the forum because I definitely was an adult the whole time.

I honestly would love to hear more, I always try to emulate lego's design schemes in my MOCs so even though it's a small set finding out how they go about the design process or how the budgeting works would be really interesting.

What would we have done if we went a year without a tumbler? I shudder to think of it.

I thought there was a leak recently of four superhero sets for the summer with 3 being marvel and one being DC, but I may be getting confused with people hoping one was DC. I agree it's not likely we get much else if I was wrong about that leak. (And even if we did, it'd likely be another large batmobile)

OK then, what was the inspiration behind the polybag design?

Yes, it was discussed about 1 set dc. I'm still hopeful they have something else planned either 20th anniversary or daily planet modular.

Ah yes the next evolution. Batmobiles without Batman minifigs. At least we got the BvS one I guess.

Wow. That’s awesome.

I’d interested to know what it’s like doing an internship for Lego. Was it fun?

I guess that also means that there’s a Batcave sometime this year. That new Bruce Wayne has to come from somewhere. Perhaps the 800 piece June set?

There's nothing exclusive about that minifig though. The torso has been used for Norman Osborn, Grandpa Joe, and Cornelius Fudge last year :shrug_oh_well:

Yes, you are correct that there is allegedly one more DC set planned for June of next year. I must have missed the news. But the largest of three it could be is just over 800 pieces, so I really doubt a UCS Batmobile is in the cards (or a modular DC building, for that matter).

It was the best time, honestly so cool, every day was like a dream.

And yeah that torso is a re-used part so doesn’t mean anything

My original concept was somewhat different, I was working from a more comics perspective (as in classic black and yellow) but really I just liked the play idea of ‘this is Bruce Wayne and he’s getting dressed to go out as Batman’ as a small set.

I can neither confirm nor deny any rumours about sets or say anything about budgeting or how that works

Thought so- though based on the piece count @psqidexslizer mentioned it won't be a daily planet modular (And again, I don't think that fits both in terms of modular budget and the batman focus of the theme, especially with the soup mech retiring early)

Right- so not a UCS one, but maybe a weird upscaled batmobile along the lines of the Forevermobile. Or it's just another Legendary Batmobile or batwing or something.

Interesting- did they request you tone it down to greyer colors? I would assume they'd want the more comic-y color scheme for the polybags since it would be more vibrant for kids.

It is a good idea, especially with the lack of villain characters to choose from. It gives a more complete play scenario then most polybags. It reminds me of the black panther 4+ set they did a few years ago.

Great to hear, will work really well in a batcave set,  let's hope we get some more surprises on the dc side.thanks for the reply

If the tumbler is technic maybe we get a shooting bat pod or a seat change to missle positioning.  I don't expect minifigs

I think the Polybag looks Really cool, and I will 100% pick it up soon after it comes out. To hear that YOU had a role in the polybag is AWESOME, and I want to say thank you for being part of such a cool polybag.

Did you happen to have a part in the Marvel one as well?
