I also don't like this kind of use because system parts are 8mm "thick", instead technic liftarms are a little thinner, so you see a micro non-complanarity on the surface and it looks "wrong". I always felt funny about this as well, but I could never describe why I didn't like it. Thanks for giving me the words for what I could never articulate. Quote

But yes having a variety of rims would be a good idea! And these special rims TLG is using for the car, especially in this color are super weird looking. Someone at Lego seems to think slamming the Fast'n'Furious batch on some random looking car will increase sales figures. And know what? they're right! Edited April 16 by pow Quote

It's rare in the technic to see its attractive colors Quote
mpj Posted June 20 Posted June 20 (edited) Hello! This is my alternative model of set 42204. It is inspired on Iveco Stralis. The model features Hog steering, tiltable cab and fake engine. I think the model will look a little better if you add the pulley wheels on front rims: The instructions are on Rebrickable.com This is my second alternative truck in 1:24 scale. The other one is 42161 Truck I'm planning an alternative truck made from the 42205 Corvette too, once I'll buy the set. Edited June 20 by mpj Quote
