Shadows Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Should I mention that the sample for this 35x20 contest is 21 pixels tall, as are most of our official icons? Quote
iamded Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Well, this sounds like a contest I can enter! Count me in. ~Peace Quote

For when you are feeling mischievous (or helpful, depending on the monkey I guess). 2) Squawk! Are you noticing a pattern with my entries? 3) I think of this as a happy shark. The pirate animal smiley trilogy is now complete! I guess the crocodile is also a pirate animal, but I think I've spent enough of my morning on this already. I vote for you, since you took all my ideas (monkey and parrot smileys). Quote

Good point . Frankly, it ticks me off that you give a blank head that's more than 20 pixels tall, as IS has said. In fact, I have a really good custom that is just more than 20, and I'm upset that I can't use it. Are you sure you don't mean 35 pixels tall instead of 20? Edited August 4, 2008 by Adam Quote
Stauder Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Begun, the Smiley Wars have. Sorry. Had to say it. Staudie. Quote

Skipper 24 Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Tenorikuma (is that spelt right) you could always make your own monkey shark and parrot smileys. Quote

Besides, everyone is breaking the rules- some people are using the 21 pixel blank head, which shouldn't be allowed . Quote

Most of the Pirate smileys are 20 or 21 pixels tall so the blank smiley is the same size. Any bigger and the smiley will interfere with the line height of the text. If the smiley is exceptionally good then you might be able to get away with adding 1 or 2 extra pixels, but I'd strongly advise to stay within the limits otherwise the smiley won't be selected if it is likely to cause display issues. Joey Lock said: Ive made my Smiley Transparent but White isnt showing up. How do I get it to show? You need to change the background colour to off white and set transparency on that colour. Quote

Shoc Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Not so much related to the subject matter, but this topic just took me 20 minutes to open up! Everything else on the computer was working fine during the time, so I don't think it was my computer... Anyone know why? :skull: Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted August 5, 2008 Author Governor Posted August 5, 2008 How many attempts did you make to load this topic? If it was just the once then I wouldn't worry about it, but if you receive continuous bad performance then there might be problem. Quote

Fortunately it was working today, but yesterday I tried opening it about 7 times within those 20 minutes, none of them worked, and I didn't have much going on in the background. Every other topic I looked at on Eurobricks at the same time was working... Also, once I had made that last post, it took ages until the page had loaded up again. At least it's fine now. :skull: Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted August 6, 2008 Author Governor Posted August 6, 2008 What about now? Had any problems since? Quote
Scouty Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Just added another (and probably last) entry. It's a cannon! I'm a bit happy with it, though I think I would need to shorten the barrel and fix the wheels at the base Mister Phes said: Sunday August 3rd and Saturday August 10th. The 10th is on a Sunday Quote

Shadows Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I have to wonder why I'm not in the impending poll. Quote
