As I already mentioned in my topic, I am making a vintage buggy for the TC27 with 1x PF L motor, 1x Geekservo and custom control unit with separated LiPo battery and receiver. If these electronics don`t respect the rules I kindly ask the moderators to delete this topic. Also, I know that the tires I used are not fit for the contest. For the final photos I will get and put the right tires.

Moving to the build, I had problems with the front shocks tower, as the shocks were too big and put the suspension arms under tension. So I had to make the tower wider.

Apart from that, everything went smooth to finish the model in around 2 hours; I would have been faster if I would have stored the parts in a more organized manner :/

Buut, after I almost finished the bodywork I started to think where to put all the other electronics..........the RC Deck barely fits and the receiver is pretty small so I can squeeze it somewhere too but the battery has no space, at least the 2200mAh I got. So I think I will need to get a new smaller LiPo :(

Not to forget about the suspension.......the front has a crazy amount of suspension travel and the rear, while has much less travel, has enough though.

It's an impressive chassis for the size it is.  What kind of speeds are you getting with that single L motor?

Thanks!

I still have to get some extension cables for controlling the RC Deck maybe even a new smaller battery. So I didn`t do any test run, not even an indoor one :/

That does look like a lot of fun! I am pretty sure those electronics wouldn't be allowed under the contest rules, but either way I hope you finish the model!

Thanks!

Yeah, that is what I thought also, but I am waiting for the moderators to confirm. Also, I will finish this for sure, if not now then in the next month.

I converted the model to 100% Lego electronics.

To fit the hub and the PF servo, I extended the chassis with 2 studs and the bodywork with 4 studs. It was also necessary to move the bodywork towards the back with 3 studs.

The hub can easily be charged and even changed by taking out the 2x 2L pins with 1L axle connectors at the back and sliding the hub towards the rear axle.

Also, I worked on the steering problems - the steering rack had too much play and also, due to the pieces that act as wheel-hubs and the steering range, the 6L links were popping out.

I had put 2x 4L axles for guiding the steering rack and limited the steering physically from 1 stud to half a stud with the help of 2x 2L thin liftarms.

Moreover, to keep the motor safe, as the only PF L motor I have (a MouldKing black L motor, which in theory is faster than the grey ones) smells like smoke, I switched the last 12t half gear with a 20t half gear to increase the torque. The gear ratio increased so from 1:1 to 1.67:1. While it seems insignificant, the new ratio made the model more speedy.

I will try to make a video of the model today, as I am taking it out for a test run.

Welp.................I couldn`t make a video, but I managed to record the speed of the model - it got around 9 km/h / 6 mph (rolls easily still).

Also, after the ”trip”, the model looks like this :))
