Mister_Loki Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 (edited) So I have my LEGO Collection in plastic boxes and they sit in the corner of my room with no connection to the sunlight, i'm just wondering would high temperatures ruin the bricks inside of the boxes? The heat here in Croatia usually doesn't go above 40 degrees where I live, but I just wonder how concerned should I be about temperature for my bricks during the summer? I'm asking this since I don't know how heat resistant LEGO Is. Sorry if this sounds like a silly question. Edited June 29, 2024 by Mister_Loki Quote
JopieK Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 The old LEGO was indeed very susceptible to it. My dad's LEGO more or less melted and was afterwards not 'clutching' anymore. ABS should be ok till around 40 degrees C according to TLG, but too warm is always a risk of course. See also: Quote
Paul B Technic Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 I just make sure mine is not in direct sunlight during summer. Quote
JesseNight Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 If it's ABS, it shouldn't be warping under 100 degrees Celcius. ABS is a lot more heat resistant than many other plastics. Just keep them out of direct sunlight. That includes the boxes too bc a closed box can get hotter inside while in direct sunlight. Quote
