Governor Mister Phes Posted August 2, 2008 Author Governor Posted August 2, 2008 It's low here too according to some... I notice the UK prices have improved slightly since I created this thread, yet I still wonder if that's because this thread brought them to people's attentions. Nonetheless, there are still several good deals, like: 6271 Imperial Flagship ~ £13.49 6261 Raft Raiders ~ £3.25 6285 Black Seas Barracuda ~ £32.00 Quote
Big Pete Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 (edited) wouldn't it be better to do a search on completed items to ascertain prices acheived rather than auctions that are still currently active? The last time I did a search on the 6285 set for completed items I didn't see one sell for less than £50. Edited August 2, 2008 by Big Pete Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted August 2, 2008 Author Governor Posted August 2, 2008 Yes, you're right, the final price is what really counts. If you check the first post of this thread you'll see I've been recording the final price of the auctions after they've ended. But completed items? Until you mentioned I'd never heard of them to be honest, but looking at the Advanced Search page I see checkbox for them. How long ago was that feature added? Quote

How long ago was that feature added? errr, I don't know exactly, but it's been a feature as long as I can remember and I joined ebay in 2001! It's pretty useful to gauge how much things will sell for on ebay and/or how much you should expect to pay for something. Mind you, you can still get freak auctions (see a recent sale of mine of a PC gamepad where the completed items search showed top price of £3 and someone offered me £12 as a Buy It Now price!!) and I wouldn't trust it as a gauge on mobile phone prices as that kind of product is very much subject to scams still, sadly. Wes Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 It occurred to me that maybe since the US has more people than UK, perhaps there's more bidders and thus higher end prices than the UK. Quote
