Are the small technic turntables as sturdy and can carry as much weight as the large ones?

Lego's AT-AT uses the large technic turntable for the legs in the picture below. It weights 12,5 kg, so the turntables carry a lot of weight in a vertical position. 

I'm building an moc AT-AT in Bricklink Studio which will be at least as heavy and want to use the small turntables instead in the picture.
