morphles Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Hey, new in forums, but avid user of rebrickable. For my MOCs I sometimes are seeking parts, that I don't know about or even if they exist (or maybe I think I seen something like I might use but don't remember it even if I have it). I generally use rebrickable's part search in those cases. Maybe sometimes look in stud.io or bricklink. But in general I find part search quite lacking. So I was wondering maybe someone is aware of some fancier ways to search for parts? Examples of things I wanted: "something special" (plate or brick or maybe minifig accessory) that is at most 2x2 stud wide something tecnic, again of certain dimensions max and say with axle connect or just in general search by part volume or general dimensions. Or are such quires just extremely weird, and no-one ever thinks about such? For me it sometimes takes significant chunk to go through "possibly relevant" categories and visually inspect basically all parts in them in part search. Quote
1963maniac Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 I use the Bricklink catalog. It is the most comprehensive anywhere on the web. Pick a catagory and look through it. You'll get more familiar with it. Look at the part categories. Is it a brick, plate or tile? Does it have a bar, hinge or slope? Is it electric, technic, door, window, wheel. bracket or a minfigure? The more you use it the easier it will become. Quote
