Lego logo on bricks (and other parts)

Hi all, I recently bought some Lego parts at an auction (one of those red Lego "suitcases" full) and was going through them to weed out the "imposter's" and noticed a difference in the size of the Lego logo on the studs. Should they look all the same? Some had the word "Lego" where you could read it really good and some it was half the size but still said Lego. Was there a year they changed the size of the logo? Thanks for any help
