dudhhr Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 My 42030 contains one V2 Receiver despite the box stating it contains two and users reporting that it contains none. Has anyone else had a 42030 set with a V2 receiver? I have neither of the two sets that actually contained the V2 receiver (9398 and 41999). Quote
grum64 Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 (edited) As far as I'm aware, and it is only that, no 42030 sets came with V2's so you finding one in your set is surprising, to me anyway. Was your set new & sealed or pre-owned? Mrs Grum has just been out to my shed and checked the artwork on my 42030 box which shows 2 x V2 receivers however, when she checked my model it has 2 × V1's. My 9398 definitely did come with 1 x V2. Edited March 28, 2023 by grum64 Quote
TechnicRCRacer Posted March 26, 2023 Posted March 26, 2023 I know for sure that 9398 came with a V2 receiver because my new one as well as a used one both had them. The 42030 I have seen did not have any V2 receivers (I do not own one). Maybe LEGO was offloading stock and put one in your set. Quote

valenciaeric Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 (edited) IIRC there was a tech issue about stacking V2s with multiples of some motors- so that might be why this set has 2 V1´s. https://bricks.stackexchange.com/questions/8781/why-is-the-lego-ir-receiver-v2-not-widely-produced-or-are-they If you got 42030 when it was released, I don´t get why this is an issue now - 9 years later. Why not request the correct part to Lego back then? Edited March 27, 2023 by valenciaeric Quote
1963maniac Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 According to Bricklink, 42030 had 2 V1s and never had a V2 as an alternate or counterpart. The V2s came in the following 8 sets: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=58123bc01&in=S . Quote
