Eilif Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 The past years spending is like this:60% Bricklink 58% Toystores 1% S@H 1% A local grocery store. I just had to ask, what kind of LEGO does your Grocery store carry? Quote
Sandy Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 (edited) I'm mildly amused that several of the replies in this topic add up to 120% in total. But math is hard, I'll be the first one to admit that. Luckily my answer is easy: for now, 100% of my lego purchases have went to local department and grocery stores. I'm not listing names since they all are Finland-exclusive chains anyway. In the near future, however, I'll start buying lego from online stores. Just need some money for them first. Edited July 13, 2008 by Sandy Quote
jifel Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 hmm, just target really, and a bit toysrus for exclusives, but i may order soome custom stuff too, soon. jifel Quote

Mirandir Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I just had to ask, what kind of LEGO does your Grocery store carry? They actually have a little toys corner, or a shelf to be exact. It's different from time to time what Lego set they have. Usually it's some small creator sets like 4915 Mini construction, or mini racers like 8132 Night Driver. But the biggest buy I did where last christmas when they suddenly had 7990 Cement Mixer, 7991 Recycle Truck & 7248 Digger. And on a sale with 25% off on top off that. Then I actually bought all of thoose sets that they had left... Quote

MoonCheese Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 I think generally, lego.com gets more of my money than toy stores, but maybe not this year as I bought a lot of Lego from stores in Germany. Legoland Deutschland also got some of my money this year -- I went twice, once in March (alone) and again in June (with both of my parents). In the future I'll probably get a lot more from lego.com and other places like Bricklink. Quote
blueandwhite Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 I don't track my LEGO purchases closely enough to give accurate percentages but I can tell you that most of my recent AFOL purchasing has been done through bricklink. Prior to the colour change I did make a number of large purchases through S@H, however my interest in new LEGO has diminished greatly now that bley is the new grey . I now buy sets on only rare occasions, leaving most of my focus on acquiring desired bricks from bricklink. Quote
The Cobra Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Ok, let's try to make 100% S@H = 0% (I was tempted by latest sales, but my friends took too much time to think) Lego brand stores = 0% (where are they????) Shopping malls = 60% (good availabilty, most chances of discounts) eBay = 25% (good deals, on both used -I've bought them for some time- and new -I've been only buying new for a few months, and forever will!) Toy stores = 10% (sets priced like on S@H, or higher!) Bricklink = 5% (ok, you can find everything, but last time I bought from Canada my Custom added taxes, and that trashed my savings! And, €/$ exchange rate is kind of unfair) Quote
yorkiejim Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 80% TRU 10% S@H 5% BL 5% Other What can i say, i am a good friend of the local TRU owner (they just love it when i come in and buy up a large quantity of stock, i dont like shopping online very much, no instant gratifacation. ill do S@H for exclusives and BL for some parts, the other is from sites like BA and Fine Clonier and thats that.
