Welcome to the cozy inside of Chef Délicieux's new kitchen!

Chef Délicieux's Kitchen was both one of my favorite of my own GoH builds and yet strangely enough also one I can easily see lots of problems with, so it was a logical choice for "Old but Gold"!

In the revamp, my main focus was keeping the colors clearer and more harmonious.

I'm a little annoyed by how hard it is to see the inside of the fireplace with the table in place, but oh well, you can't have everything!

I've also got a video explaining some of the techniques and a higher quality version of the flickering fire!

Thanks for stopping by!  C&C welcome!

I loved the original and this remake is cool too. You've managed to stuff a lot of details into the available space again. I didn't watch the video, but it appears the floor is ingots on plates? Cool technique.

You've got a lot of really cool things going on here.  For one, you have some nice color choices here with the dark orange and tans, although the build is small enough you could argue many things could work. However, the subtle touches you have really add detail that is hard to see at first glance. The floor tiling with the tan ingots, the upside down hood as a hanging planter, and the minecraft head as a chopping block work great.  The bucket handle stools are also nice, and I like how you have made some delicate cross legs for the table.  The GIF showing the fire is a nice touch as well.  I like the droid head as an onion, too!

Thank you for the video. I really appreciate seeing how people build, since it helps me learn new techniques. Great job!

Beautiful kitchen in which people work diligently. Very nice furniture and many different foods. The fireplace with the flickering fire is great!

Excellent remake! I think the clearer separation of colors helps a ton, as well as having it be a more open space compared to the old one with the chandelier and pillars in the middle. I love all the different ingredients around, and the stuff hanging from the ceiling is a fantastic touch! The flickering fireplace is also super cool, it’s super creative how incorporated the standard light bricks and created a method to make them flicker. I think if you made the fireplace opening 1-2 studs taller it would help being able to see the flames inside. The floor technique is also fantastic! Also, “it’s sorta the opposite way you would expect a hook to catch a fish” had me dying

To be honest, this is one of those remakes where the first one might be even better. That said, I love all the subtle little details like the hood filled with herbs and that table is just awesome! And I might steal that light brick system one day:innocent:

Yep, ingots on plates!  The mathematics of it line up pretty nicely.

Great floor, not sure I've seen that done before. Also well done making that table there!

Thank you, I felt it was better than just an ingot floor!

Thanks, great to see that you noticed all those details, they were fun to add!

  Thank you!  That's a good point about making the opening bigger.  I was for sure a little annoyed with myself when I discovered that the table covered most of the fire up!

Yeah, I know what you're saying!  I felt afterwards that maybe I should have picked a worse build to revamp.  But after all, GoH can never have too many kitchens.   Thank you!
