DisneyLego Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 (edited) I’ll be surprised if Cinderella doesn’t make her way to us in a set this year. Perhaps one of the smaller unknown Disney sets ends up being a more formal carriage set than the previous mini doll versions. Not sure how else she’d get incorporated into a set (outside of another Disney world castle). The fact that the 4+ train parade set was released makes me wonder if they realize the possibilities for bigger parade sets. Would be a great way to get a great variety of characters, especially those missed in the CMF but not full set worthy Edited February 21, 2023 by DisneyLego

That was actually a Lego Ideas submission which wasn't approved. It's from 2019 but wouldn't it be funny if it was rejected like the Snow White cottage because Lego planned on making it themselves. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/9758f5f2-2a9a-4e0b-ba5b-47b1e8836c81

If they put her in a CMF I'd want her for completeness, but I've never felt drawn to the character. I disagree with the common position that she should have been included with the castle--uncoupling it from her in order to represent the theme parks rather than the movie is surely why the set was called "Disney Castle" instead of "Cinderella Castle," and her fairy tale is one of many referenced in the interiors. Good point. But they could have placed a minifig in each of the rooms corresponding to the fairy tales they represented. Your point is my main reason why I wonder if the Sleeping Beauty castle will come out this year or after the Disney 100 celebrations. The theme has to be "generic" enough and will likely feature Mickey and the usual characters instead of a fairy-tale-specific minifig. 1 hour ago, JeanGreyForever said: That was actually a Lego Ideas submission which wasn't approved. So much potential! Is Mary Poppins celebrating any anniversary soon?

So much potential! Is Mary Poppins celebrating any anniversary soon? If Disney still had the rights to Narnia, I would have loved to have seen sets on those movies. Although there is a wonderful Narnia project on Lego Ideas based on the books. There have been plenty of great Disney submissions to Lego Ideas like Genie's Friend Like Me, the Jolly Roger from Peter Pan, Geppetto's workshop from Pinocchio, and a wonderful Polly Pocket style Alice in Wonderland playset featuring all the characters and scenes from the movie. However, these projects either didn't get 10,000 signatures or they were rejected. Mary Poppins will celebrate its 60th anniversary next year. But if I remember correctly, Disney released 40th and 50th anniversary DVDs/Blu-Rays a year before the actual anniversaries so they've never been very accurate.

The official 100 Year Celebration of the Walt Disney Company Event already started on January 27th at the Disneyland Resort in CA. So it will be at least half over by October. Jarreth2 Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 @hikouki Mary Poppins celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2024 👍🏼

It's currently happening, but that's the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company. I was referencing the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World (the theme park resort in Florida), which has been ongoing for two years. The point is, Disney doesn't keep their "anniversary" celebrations to just the year that they occur.
DisneyLego Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 With a July/summer release date, I reckon we’ll get more details in the near future but I’m starting to think the 43226 500~ pieces will likely be another micro scale build, likely the Disneyland castle with that grey/silver jacket Mickey minifig that was leaked. As much as I’d love a large scale animation based set, or a “through the years” type set that has small dioramas of multiple Disney movies, I would be surprised if the D2C isn’t a park related set solely because there’s currently not one on the shelves. I’d say the Disneyland castle is a pretty likely choice, it’s just odd that it’ll end up being a good deal larger in piece count than the Disney World castle. I like the idea of it maybe containing additional hub builds, including a Walt/Mickey statue (which allows for a unique way to get a Walt minifig). Regardless, so long as it doesn’t somehow contain minidolls, or is some odd art set, it’ll be a first day buy for me. Looking again at the Disney CMF lineups over the past 6 years, I feel like there’s enough characters to easily put together two more series before they begin to just milk it too much, though I truly do think Disney will always sell.

The mini disney castle/haunted mansion had the age rating of 12+.

Guest Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 With all these sets coming out, what is the likelihood of a disney gwp coming out?

Yeah ever since one wave of CMF got delayed during the massive upheaval of pandemic shipping delays, now they've just gone ahead and set the Aus/NZ release to be one month later than the rest of the world every single time. Oh well...
thebricksbear Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 How early before release do cmf sets become available? Are they preorderable?

It would be interesting how the Lego web site copes up with that. Lego and Disney are probably both keeping the lid tight on further leaks after that survey photo leaked a few weeks ago. LOL
