Greetings!

I have built a small diorama around this year's WV set, Holiday Main Street. I do this pretty much every year: I take the official set as an inspiration to build around it.

As the set refers to a "main street", there had to be a street. As there is a tram, there had to be a railway. So on 3 baseplates (1 48x48, 1 32x32 and 1 32x16) I have set up a railway with a curve and a street going along it. Then I have arranged the 'station' included in the set between the two and the shops on the other side of the street. As the shops are way too thin, I have added a bit of deepness to them, in form of a 4 studs wide extension in the back: this way I could also add a small staircase inside, so the poor minifigs have a way to go upstairs. Then I added a walkway across the railway, as I wanted to put the Christmas tree on the other side of the curve. Under the walkway, I had enough space to add a small festive booth selling bread and sandwiches.

I am happy enough with the result: I could improve it by spending more time, but I am satisfied as it is. There are some issues: I couldn't find a way to properly cover the curved street with tiles, so some sections are a bit rough; There should be a protective barrier on the walkway, but I was never satisfied with any I had tried to create.

What do you think? I am always eager to hear suggestions from experienced builders.

Thank you!
