ukbajadave Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 For many years I've started the day with a lovely hot cup of coffee. As time has gone on I've cut out the sugar but now I've been advised to cut out the caffeine too! What does anyone else start the day with that's delicious and not too labour intensive (sometimes my day can start at 02.30 so I don't want to be grinding beans and swapping filters) Any suggestions welcomed Quote
Guyinaplaguemask Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 Try hot chocolate, I have it every morning, and it doesnt take long to make (1-2 mins max in a microwave) Quote
Peppermint_M Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Where are you based? If I suggested a nice hot cup of Bovril, you might have no idea what that is Quote
ukbajadave Posted October 31, 2022 Author Posted October 31, 2022 Ooh yummy but my GP would probably tell me to cut down on salt! Why is all the tasty stuff also the bad stuff Quote
dr_spock Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Ouch, no sugar or salt or caffeine? But those are basic food groups. How about hot Chinese tea? Some like herbal teas don't have caffeine. They are served plain without sugar or cream or milk. Quote

And of course herbal or fruits teas which have no caffein at all. Some herbal (and sometimes fruits) teas contain Liquorice and based on what you wrote, i guess you should avoid that too, because it can raise blood pressure. What i like is Yogi Tea, Chai or Indian Chai with milk. Indian Chai, that is black tea with some spices added, for example Cardamom. At least that is what they sell here in Germany under these names Black tea percentage varies but with around 20% of black tea, caffeine is also much lower. But there is sometimes Liquorice, so you have to check out the description. Herbal tea you can drink in litres Quote

So I tried a variety of herbal drinks, most of which tasted like hot fruit squash and in the end I decided I like my morning coffee too much so I've compromised and have one delicious coffee when I wake up and a pill from the doc every day. Yeah I wouldn't be able to completely cut my (black) coffee either Quote
Krol Zmija Sebastian Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 My mother let me bring my skateboard to my Jadek and Bapcha's, so it feels very happy drinking it being better than the Burgs neighbor Boys that were in sports from a young age - trying to mask being dependant on other Boys; Independant on their Parents. Sometimes I eat steamy waffles with butter like tacos. Quote
