Captain_CreamFields Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 I recently won The Mighty Black Seas Barracuda on eBay and have also gathered my forces and recruited new ones to make my Barracuda as cool as i can i have some methods of achieving this such as: Reinforcing the meager crew from 8 to around 30 - 40 if they all fit Adding 2x forward cannons towards the bow of the ship for extra firepower Making my figurehead feel more menacing by replacing the goblet with a cutlass and the bandana with some ladies hair Mounting a compass in front of the steering wheel Either removing the plank or making it collapsable Customising the captains cabin with a bed, a table and a few other choice accessories Mounting the rowboat on the back of the ship and replacing its red oars with brown conunterparts A crowsnest atop one of the masts Adding a ladder from the deck into the lower levels Place crates containing cannonballs close to the cannons Turning one of the holds into a makeshift prison for soldiers and skeletons And finally adding barrels and crates to the ship containing weapons and tools A lot of these ideas are either from this forum or other users here, i would like to know how i can make my ship feel my own without completely changing the model. P.S. could anybody give me the low down on all the weapons pirates were known to use I.E. did they use spears? or anything else other than cutlasses and muskets Quote
meschepers Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Pirates were known to use essentially everything at their disposal. They would use harpoon, hatchets, swords, muskets, flintlocks, clubs, belaying pins, almost anything that could be used as a weapon in close quarters. Bartholomew Roberts once even killed one of his own crew men with a wooden bucket. So, if you have a melee weapon cahnces are it will acceptable. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 30, 2008 Governor Posted June 30, 2008 My recommendation would be to start making modifications here and there then take some pictures and show us. This way we can see exactly what you're doing and then provide suggestions and feedback. Quote

Axle Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Well, a while ago I posted this topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18215 Hope this helps! And welcome to classic-pirates! Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Congrats on your win and welcome to Eurobricks! May i ask why you call yourself Captain_Creamfield? Quote
Fluyt Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 (edited) Welcome to Eurobricks. Nice additions you have in mind. But I'd suggest you'd also put the figurehead on top of a hinge brick so you can have it at an angle and also putting an extra cannon on each side (+1 cannonflap per side of course). Only I think 30-40 crew would be a bit much, I've tried about 20 and that was full enough allready. offtopic: by the way, why aren't there that many SES mods? Is it rarity?, because I'd love to see modded SES-es (also for inspiration for my own, I seem to be stuck at the moment, I'm making it only 2 mid hull-sections, instead of the standard adding of hull-sections ). Captain_CreamFields Posted June 30, 2008 Author Posted June 30, 2008 Thanks for the suggestions guys i'll try the hinge brick and i guess 30-40 does seem a bit much I don't really have a reason for my username it just came to mind when i signed up i should have the ship in the next two weeks (damn echeques) so i'll post it as soon as possible Quote
