Diamabolo Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Finally, the pterodactylus from the Creator Set 31058 has been brought to life. With a few extra parts for the joints, the bird was mobile enough to be moved by seven different eccentric disks/ Cams. I got the idea for this sculpture/ Automaton from artist Reuben Margolin who built a bird with this mechanism. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Very interesting. It seems like a little more speed would be ok, but the timing looks perfect. Well done. Quote
Toastie Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Oh, that is wonderful!!! I love the motion - the slow motion - very much. So elegant when you don't see the mechanism behind it - and so fascinating when you do. These flying species really mastered cruising and feeling the air through their evolutionary path - and left behind not such a mess another species currently driving around on earth as if there were no tomorrow Very well done! All the best, Thorsten Quote
Carsten Svendsen Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Cool, I like kinetic sculpures. Needs more fine tuning though. The bird in its entirety should probably be moving up as the wings go down. It's just physics. Not at the end of the motion ;) Quote
