Ravelino Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 (edited) This model, inspired by the 2020 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37, is the second MOC from my Time Cruisers Contest entry that I updated and made instructions for, available on Rebrickable soon. At first I wanted this model to have opening doors, but after realizing I wasn’t able to fit any minifigures or have the recognizable side air intakes if I did that, I let this desire go. Instead I decided to make the engine as similar looking to the real engine as could be, working with little Lego elements. I hope you like it! Special thanks to Christopher Leslie Stamp’s team and The Lego Company for creating the new Lego Speed Champions line. Special thanks to my fellow Lowlug LUG members for teaching me so much about MOCs and working in Bricklink Studio in such a short time. Special special thanks to Chef_NL/Rob van Leeuwen for saving me heaps of time. Studio crashed during the finalization of the instruction booklet and somehow I lost the original file in the process and got a (seemingly) useless backup file in return. Also special thanks to Barneius, Brickengineeringdude, Bricks, Blocks & Mocs, Legotuner33, I'm a conformist!, _TLG_ and numerous other great MOC designers around the globe for showing me tons of beautiful models, techniques and how to format a MOC entry properly. Thank YOU for watching! Please do not hesitate to comment and post some feedback. noahtheb Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Looks really good! May I ask how you got the windshield print off? I tried erasing the print, but it didn't work, and then I tried nail polish remover on two different windshields and ended up ruining both of them. It left this weird white stain on it. Quote

I did use an eraser actually, to be more exact the type that's on the back of a cheap pencil ( took them out of the pencil back and used up two of those completely) but have heard it's easier using copper polish and a little rubbing with a cloth. Haven't tried this myself since I don't own copper polish and I do own a lot of cheap pencils already so if you do use the second technique maybe clean the windscreen with some (soft) soapwater afterwards. https://www.lowlug.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=664 here's a little discussion that might help with some photos of the aftermath (needs google translate though cause it's in Dutch) You can also just buy the windscreens w/o print on BL if I'm not mistaken but they're quite expensive if I recall correctly. Thanks! I'm definitely gonna give the erasing method another try now, I hope it goes well. I get scared I'll warp the windshield sometimes lol. Also, the windscreen without a print will probably get cheaper, because of the new Jurassic Park set. Quote

I used an old Ferrari F8 windscreen that was fading a bit already (back when you could still buy one from B&P I picked up an extra), but you're probably right about that JP set thanks for showing me! I thought there was some sort of print on that and I already have the big T-rex so I wasn't too interested in this one. Edited June 8, 2022 by Ravelino nitpicking Quote
