Classic Space Space Modular Vehicle

[Operacion Saturno]

Greetings.

As part of a challenge between friends, I created a space vehicle using only pieces found in Classic Space sets.

This vehicle recreates the features of the late 80s space sets. A vehicle, a flyer and a mobile base. All 3 in a single set.

The difference with other retro space creations is that the base and the vehicle can be used separately from the wheel module.

Very nice. Reminds me a lot of the 6933 Spectral Starguider from Blacktron, but on a smaller scale, and obviously not Blacktron.

Strong 6926 vibes. I always thought the back of that set should be able to attach to the detachable front ship. Looks like you fixed that!

That's a great model and would fit right in with the official space sets of the mid 80s. One of my favourite aspects of Classic Space sets was the modularity of different parts of the build, which you've captured perfectly.

Thank you, That's one of the disadvantages of the 4741 pieces. They look great, but they leave the back open so you can´t airlock it and won't look good in the air.

Ah, so that's why you didn't use those! I get you. I do like the hexagonal shape you can get with those, though.

I'm not sure the 2128a or b 6x6 octagonal canopy are large enough to close the back of the 4741 outward windows.

It could be solved with a 2598 10x10 octagonal canopy or a 95198 8x8 half sphere canopy, but none of them existed back in the 80s.
