Chapter 4:

(Here is chapter 3 where we left last time.  Now for a slightly different side of the story.)

Jimmy (tan tricorn): Whew!  What an exhausting campaign we've had.

Timmy (black tricorn): That was two months ago.

Jimmy: I know.  What an exhausting two months.  I've had all the hard work of thinking where everything should go here in the Count's new office.  You had it easy, all you had to do was lug boxes.

Timmy: Mm.  Well, now what?

Jimmy: ...Now... what?

Timmy: Mm.  You think that Count Lewisham got a dimwit like... er... me... to join him in politics because... because he loves Eslandola so much?

Jimmy: Noble, noble man!

Timmy: Shh!  Here he comes.

Jimmy: What does that matter?  I don't care if he does hear me praise him.

Count Lewisham entered his new Nova Terreli office and walked to the desk under the "window" that looked straight out at the neighboring house crowding up against it.

He dropped a bit of wax on a letter in his hand and sealed it.

Then he turned to Jimmy and held out the letter.  Jimmy read the inscription.

Jimmy: To Bananas Lyrical...

Timmy: A code name.

Jimmy: I knew that.

Jimmy took the letter, bowed, and left.

Timmy: But does he know whose code name it is?

(To be continued.)

Now for a look behind the scenes at the full vignette.  I borrowed the floor technique from Ralf Langer, and had fun with sideways crates for the furniture.  I love building bookshelves, probably because I love books, and I thought this one turned out especially well!

The floor looks really great. The intricate work is best seen in the last photo. I like the bookcase very much, especially because of the different books. This makes it look interesting and varied.

Because he has a new office, I think Count Lewisham won the election.

Very nice bookshelf indeed. I was wondering what you did with the floor until I saw the last picture! A very well done experiment indeed.

That bookshelf is gorgeous! I've been musing on making some soon and this has piles of ideas for it on the shelves. Such an interesting floor design too.

Amazing bookshelf!  But what is Lewisham doing? Whom is he writing to?

Can we still count on the Count?

Countless questions :pir-huzzah2:

I wouldn't count on the Count if I were you... :pir-grin:

:pir-laugh:  Yes, I believe the Count won because no one else had the slightest interest in disputing the burden and honor of the office with him.

Thanks Fraunces!  I wish the floor pattern showed up a bit more clearly on the immersive pictures instead of being just a glare of red!

There is alot of GPU in this build the water jar on top of the bookcase is one of them!

Thank you!  I borrowed the water jar design from Aaron Newman years ago and keep sneaking it in whenever I get a chance... even if, like here, it only really shows up in the behind the scenes!
