MKJoshA Posted December 21, 2024 Author Posted December 21, 2024 Guys, I've been offline these past 2 weeks waiting for my internet to get hooked up. I'm back and will share more on the map debate soon. But in short, as P9 is under DS control only DS can build on Kashyyyk right now. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Hi howdy hey! Catching up on things after a long absence from the RBG scene! Any faction in particular hurting for players that might be looking to pick up a casual participant? Quote

But feel free to choose what fits your mood best, I'd say Would be great to have you on board, no matter which side you choose Quote

Depending on how familiar you are with the game rules in general. On the first page of this thread you get the intro. Feel free to ask here, if something is unclear. If you are interested more in the state of the three teams, feel free to check out the map: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1hhu_2cIGV2rVEIalErmj3Qx_Uci00xnGZL6P_CnzJfk/htmlview# The global goal is still to conquer P10 to trigger something story-wise per the game master. But the Dark Side victory on this sector is imminent. Only Mercs from Q10 could challenge them If you want to start building with some bonus points, I'd suggest to participate in the Life Day Contest. You can have a look at the in-game contest rules here: But be aware, the contest is closing on Sunday night. Quote

J2Red Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Hello! I was also interested in joining the Mercenaries as a casual builder. Quote

Jody Meyer Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Alright, I know I am trialing but jeez... Welcome. Dannylonglegs it is good to see you back. we are orange. Quote
MKJoshA Posted March 26 Author Posted March 26 Hey all, I've been busy building the sheets and rule updates for 2.0. We should be ready to launch before Andor season 2 drops. In preparation I'm going to ask that you hold off on posting any more MOCs till 2.0 starts. I'll be sharing the 2.0 map soon to give you all a chance to weigh in and offer changes before we make it official. Quote
MKJoshA Posted March 26 Author Posted March 26 Alright, taking into account the points scored by each team, which grids they were earned in, and some rounding this is the proposed start for 2.0. Light Side will start with 19 planets, Dark Side with 15, and Mercs with 12. 2.0 will change from a simple grid map to the old planets and hyperspace routes we had in Factions. So within the grid coordinates teams had claimed I picked planets that gave good hyperspace access. If you see any errors or have suggestions before we make this final please let me know. (Please note that L9 and M11 each have DS and LS planets claimed. But the overlay makes them look orange. We might need to change the Merc color to yellow) And here's the map with just the planets marked in their team colors: Quote
Max_Lego Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Limiting factions' control from grids to individual planets is a good idea I have a few questions 1) How were the planets under each faction's control determined? For example, why does the DS control Coruscant? I'd personally prefer it to be under LS control. Please forgive me my arrogance 2) In which period will Mysteries 2.0 will be set? The same 5-6 ABY, as before? 3) Where we shall be allowed to build? I would personally suggest to allow the DS to build in the Unknown Regions a little bit - we have Mugg Fallow to deal with! Please forgive me, if my questions and suggestions are stupid Quote

Please forgive me, if my questions and suggestions are stupid These are great questions! 2.0 is going to start in 5 ABY, but we'll be progressing along the timeline a lot more quickly than before. In 5 ABY the Empire (Dark Side) had control of Coruscant. So to answer your questions, 1) for story purposes I gave Coruscant to the DS as they had points in L9. The Light Side also had points in L9 so they have Chandrilla which also ties in with storytelling. The DS will start with 50 points, so it wouldn't be hard for the LS to take control. And we'll have an episode revolving around Coruscant pretty early on which will give even the Mercs the chance to earn points there. 2) We'll be set right after the battle of Endor and will have episode challenges focused on EU events in the years following. 3) You can build on any planet your team owns, in any grid where your team owns a planet, in any adjacent grid to grids your team owns, or any any planet along a hyperspace lane your team has access too. That'll give you plenty of reach into the Unknown Regions. Keep the questions coming! If others don't like the idea of the DS controlling Coruscant we can certainly change that before we start. But those are the reasons I gave it to them to start with. Quote
Jody Meyer Posted March 26 Posted March 26 hmmm considering I am colour blind, maybe not a bad Idea, why restricted to 5aby? just curious. should we get together on teams or somthing to hatch out a way to bring in more players., or back like @Dannylonglegs. I know that thier is still ryan's group working off line...and darth bjorns which are one in the same. there should be a section for digital builds, like maybe supplying instructions to prove that it is swoosh capable...if you get the idea behind that reference. Quote
MKJoshA Posted March 26 Author Posted March 26 @Jody Meyer 5 ABY is just the launching point. It'll allow for better direction with Episode challenges. For recruitment I have a number of ideas that I'll start once 2.0 kicks off. And of course word-of-mouth is the best method. As for your digital builds, you share a lot of really cool ones I've never seen submitted as entries. Sometimes they may not earn as many points as physical builds, but I like them and they are certainly welcome in the game for as long as you want to make them. Quote

I have moved onto animated shorts as well, that require just a bit more work, still a learning curve for me, as well. Are you able to use any of your lego shows that you attend to push out their that eurobricks exists? I sure you do, think I have seen them before... Quote

I can understand feeling like the work isn't worth the points, but if you don't post it you get nothing And I've noticed a huge improvement in your rendering. That used to be one of the things holding you back. I think you most recent posts would receive a lot more points. I have promoted Mysteries at shows before. Since moving to France I haven't had the chance to do any shows. But I will continue to promote as much as I can wherever I can. Quote
MKJoshA Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 Quick update that everything through Nov 24 has been scored. I'm working on the May the 4th contest right now, so the launch of 2.0 may get delayed 1 week but will still be before Andor Season 2. And for judging, 2.0 will have a weekly score drop so all scores will be given on Mondays in the future. Quote

Max_Lego Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Am I able to violate the existing Canon by proclaiming that Grievous is still alive and held in jail?.. As a matter of fact, how far can we get in twisting the SW lore? I used a canonical character's name and applied it to an entirely different person while participating in Mysteries. Would it work now? Also, will I be able to join the game after the fall of Coruscant? Or I must enlist from the very beginning, if I want to participate? Quote
MKJoshA Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 2 hours ago, Jody Meyer said: sounds good, are we able to use characters from Andor?...hint... Seeing as characters from Andor that continue on to Rogue One all die your options may be limited But hey, if they can bring back Maul, Ventress, Palpatine, and others I don't see why we can't write a story where Andor survives. It's all in how you spin the tail 39 minutes ago, Max_Lego said: Am I able to violate the existing Canon by proclaiming that Grievous is still alive and held in jail?.. Bringing your characters over from 1.0 is totally fine and actually encouraged. So no need to re-enlist unless you want to change teams. As for twisting lore, it'll help me if you give me a heads up if you're using major EU characters as I plan for them to be part of the regular Episode schedule. I know you're not a fan of much of the EU material. Just know we're using it as a guideline but aren't beholden to it. And concerning Grievous, since we see him die on screen that's another tough one. But hey, he was mostly machine anyway right? Maybe they bringing him back. If you can write a good story, it'll fit! All that said about Andor and Grievous, it will be wise to keep violations of canon and timelines to a minimum. There can be exceptions, but we're aiming for more consistency than the EU before the Vong war Quote
