Hello!

I am an educator and have several EV3 Mindstorm robots here that have the same problem. When I upload and run ANY program, the robot seems to move one millimeter (and I think with the wheel on one side only), and then stops completely. Any ideas what the problem might be? The brain or the motor? Thank you! (I know the program is correct because it works on some robots).

The robots are all the same?

Is there any condition in the program to stop/end it? (like any sensor value to exit the main loop)
"Any" program is not the same as "THE program" ?

Did you try a program just turning the motor(s) for five seconds?

Thank you for the quick reply! The robots are all the same. The program I've been trying is just a simple "When program starts" -> "Move forward for 5 seconds". Nothing else.

Then you should change the motor to another EV3 Brick and see what happens, this should make it clear if it is the motor or the brick. And don't forget to check/exchange cables.

Does only the motor stop or ist the program completed (see display)

5 minutes ago, I swapped a working brain to non-working motor, and it did not work.

So the problem is in the motor.

The program is not able to finish. So, I guess the robot is sensing that it cannot do the movement and does not finish the program because of this.

I will try to find some spare motors now!

Thank you for your quick helo, Lok24.
