Thought i's share my latest and final incarnation of this great model, so it Started with a brand new boxed 42128 and a bit of planning with a 'bricklink' order:

Much as I liked this build, I just couldn't get on with the American front end, it just didn't hold the detail for me! I initially thought about adding a Mack Anthem Cab for a bit more detail. But in the end opted to use a variation on my Scania G370 C model:

All original recovery truck features work as normal, although I have relocated the rotator 6 stud forward and added additional gearing. The whole model is 4 stud shorted. Twin steering works on HOG and CAB doors open, plus it has an engine linked up to the original drive train.

There you have it... really pleased with the one! Its a bit heavy and has a really healthy 2815 part count.. but its go an impressive look I feel?

Thanks

Mike

Yes, it has really an impressive look now, the long nose cab was not bad, but the cab you made looks much more solid than the original one.

The addition of one axle makes this look bigger and the red-white colors are also something different. :pir-thumb:

Funnily enough... that was one of my inspirations! I thought about building the chassis legs up like that... but ended up with a cleaner look as wanted to keep the 42128 stabilsers.

Thanks... yes it does look and feel bigger, essentially although shorter it is generally bigger as alot more mass up front.

That kind one was on my mind when Lego introduced 68.7 x 27 tires on 1989 Batmobile, but (as usual) @efferman beat me with his gorgeous Scania recovery truck.
