Umbra-Manis Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 Recently I've double dipped into new MOC territory for me, Adventurers and Johnny Thunder in Particular. This first one started out as an experiment in varying the slope construction and stair details while taking inspiration from Mayan Pyramids, Johnny himself was actually the last detail added. Now he's here for a mysterious geode on top of a long abandoned pyramid. Shortly thereafter I hit 400 followers on Flickr and decided that the sarcophagus piece was close enough to be a 0 for the purposes of the build, so now it's time for an Egyptian vibe. Johnny has traveled deep into this tomb, the only light coming from his flashlight. What will he find there? The models are fairly one sided but both can be seen on Mecabricks here & here. Thanks for looking! Quote
Jack Sassy Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 I like these ones quite a lot, it is nice to see a 3D rendering of both (a nice behind the scenes view). Good job! Quote
Feuer Zug Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Nice work. Both scenes are recognizable for the ancient architecture. Quote
Lyichir Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Nice builds! I really like the way you've varied the stones on the pyramid steps in particular (though it does make each individual step quite small for a minifigure-scale model) Quote
Robert8 Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Wow they are both great but the Egypt one is simply stellar! Makes me wish for an updated version of JT in different outfits Quote
