My latest creation, The Great Temple of Ulric. It's not 100% accurate to the description, but I still think it turned out alright. also included Ar-Ulric Emil Valgeir. Hope you like it

The Great Temple of Ulric

Ar-Ulric Emil Valgeir

Ar-Ulric Emil Valgeir

Ulric's holiest site is the legendary Fauschlag, known also as the Ulricsberg. In ancient days, the greatest of the gods were Ulric and Taal; the mightiest and most widely worshipped. Yet Ulric was troubled, for it seemed that his elder brother came before him in all things. To Taal he voiced this concern, and the Lord of the Forests asked his brother what would put his mind at ease. Ulric replied that he desired a domain that he could say that belonged to him and him alone. Taal considered this request and decided to grant his younger brother's request. He gifted Ulric with a great mountain surrounded by harsh forests filled with fierce beasts. Pleased with this, Ulric thanked his elder brother and smote the mountaintop flat with his mighty fist. Here, he declared, would his chosen people, the Teutogens, abide and build a mighty fortress and temple, where his fires would burn eternally and men would journey far and wide to pay him tribute. Thus was born the Fauschlag, which in the tongue of the Teutogens, means 'Fist-Strike.'

I’m not familiar with the source material, but that’s a cool looking edifice. The detailing is great . It has the appearance of a fantasy German or Flemish municipal building or guild hall.

Thanks a lot! :sweet: This is from Warhammer Fantasy Battles. The Empire of man (which this faction is a part of) is basically the Holy Roman Empire on steroids, the source material and art is so mind-blowing that I've always wanted to do something with it.

This build looks very crisp, a good combination of shapes! Keeping a uniform color keeps it from looking overly “busy” visually, which I think can clutter a lot of medieval/historic builds. Great work :)

Thanks a lot! :sweet: I get what you are saying and although I do believe that really rich and vibrant colours work in certain builds, this was trying to capture a very different style. Namely the bleak, "Grimdark" Warhammer feel - imposing and menacing, which in my mind is synonymous with gothic architecture. Glad you like it!

This is cool!

I like the imposing nature of the build and its texture!

I was also a big sucker for Warhammer back in the day but now prefer the sturdiness and reusability of Lego.

Thank you! :sweet: I think I had to make a choice between Warhammer and LEGO because there was no way I could finance both hobbies on the level that I wanted to as an adult. I also agree on reusability, although you can in theory reuse and repaint Warhammer, there is just no comparison to LEGO.
