I love a great garbage truck, and the side loader mechanism is well designed. Thanks for sharing it with us. I am glad that you like it. I know @brunojj1made some comments on the Aston, but, have you presented this build as well? I would love to get some more information, this looks like a fantastic build as well! Yes, I posted the info in the thread below: The red one in the picture is a remote control version of the same MOC, sure the entire chassis is different in order to fit it 2 x L motor, 1 battery, 1 servo, and 1 sbrick. Here is a video how it ride: Thanks! 4 hours ago, MCD said: So cool! love the mechanisms, the scale and proportions look spot on! Thank you! I like this scale so much because anything bigger may not be able to be motorized. Quote

I am a better MOCer than photographer I think, and my phone needs to be upgraded. Thank you! Quote
Carsten Svendsen Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Finally something different than cars and trial trucks. I actually really like this moc, it's fairly complex and aesthetically pleasing. I am only disappointed that you didn't manage to incorporate a crushing function. With 4 functions, drive, steer, bin and empty it is understandable. I know it is possible to get two functions out of one motor by using direction alone, but that would require engineering of a, probably, complicated return mechanism for two functions. Good job though! Quote

Good job though! Do you mean compressing by "crashing"? If so, I actually thought about the compressing function in the beginning, and the current hopper door is kinda pushing those "garbage" into the body. Given that a media motor is used for that function, I don't think it can do much in terms of "compressing". BTW, I probably won't crash my precious LEGO pieces too much. About the two-function-on-each-direction idea, it is an interesting idea. Could you show me some example how it work? Thanks! Quote

I didn't mean for you to actually press your pieces, but just to include a hydraulic ram (actuator) that pushes a plate towards the back or something. For the motor thing, as I said, you can get two outputs, but it would only be in one direction. Quote

The hopper part in my current design actually serves as an actuator, which can push anything falling in the entrance towards the back. And the motor thing is very interesting, but the issue that I can see is that each output can only have one direction. Edited February 3, 2022 by mihao Quote
