Nice collection

I want to build a set up like that with all my pirate sets once, but I'm way too lazy to search for all the parts in my collection (not that my collection is big or anything, but it is a mess), let alone put them all together :pir-tongue:

Is that a 1788 - Treasure Chest peeking behind that forbidden island?

I have these sets for a little year now.

And I like to keep it clean ;) .

When my attic is ready, I want to complete all first piratesets. When I was a child I played a lot with pirate lego. Anyone know the comic 'Redbeard'?

I just bought 6260, the missing set. When I'm right, I should have all first piratesets which were for sale in 1990.

The window for my attic will be placed tomorrow and properly all piratesets will be in place next week. I'm very excited :pir-classic: ........

Here some pic's of my pirate sets from 1989 (at least I hope so these are the sets). Some little things still missing, like a minifig and a few bricks. When my layout is sorted out, then I finish it to make it 100% complete.

Font view (and don't focus on building crane please :pir-blush: )

Mine set 6274 has dirty sails. The dirty ones are in a bucket with soap and water, trying to get it clean. I've ordered clean ones, so a good time to clean this whole set.

Actually I thought to make it bigger then set 6285, but it will take a long time when it's in the way I like it. But on other hand, I also want to keep it orginal as it is. Maybe in future I will make a warship in the style of the first pirate sets.

Yes one soldier is light flesh, little joke.

I've decided to build the black hawk form the Redbeard (form the comic's). Pictures of progress will be posted here form time to time. My goal is to build 30 canons in this ship with some extra defence. I know it's all fiction, but I always wanted to build a great ship. I've ordered the boat pieces form set 6285/6274 to start.

My fiction is that captain Redbeard may sail under the english flag, because pirate live was hard and hunted down and he is now under protection of the english law. In this way the black hawk can be repaired in english harbors and get supplies, for defending from the spanish and french. Only he will not attack the french ship of his 'son' Eric.

Yeah, really the first sets were certainly among the best. The ones released in 1993 and 1994 were good as well, but then the theme started to become more childish... and then be discontinued until 2009 :pir-cry_sad:

Of the sets you have there, i only own the BSB currently. As I personally prefer collecting MOCs of my own :pir_laugh2: , I only plan to collect all the major ships of the theme. I already have the BSB, SES and BBB. The RBR and the imperial flagship (2010) might also be added, but I don't plan on getting more.

Though I have to say such a nostalgic collection like yours does have something surprisingly nice... the only bad point is that it takes lots of space and sets get dusty like your carribean clipper did (tiled MOCs are easier to clean :pir-cry_happy: )

Best Regards

Ahaha nice. I like the little parrot on his head. I have never seen that set before. I wonder if there are others like that in the pirate theme.
