I know what you mean, and while digital designing is really handy, I also found there are some interesting quirks that I wasn't expecting. Some things work way better in reality than stud.io seems think, and some things it thinks will be fine don't work at all. That's something I've been learning myself bouncing between digital and real bricks with my own project.

Is it reasonable to assume the reveal will happen once you're satisfied with it digitally? Or are you going to be like me and keep it largely under wraps until you can prove it works for real?

I don't have the bricks to experiment/test - all I have is my UCS Models (AT-AT/ISD/Gunship/TIE Fighter/etc.) and hope and pray it won't be a disaster when I get to the real life build.

Studio has some inconsistencies for sure - but I know enough about lego's to be fairly confident that I can reason it out.

As to your assumption - yes - that is essentially what I'm doing.

I'll not be finished with the design when I reveal - as there will be a point where the design is obviously going to be complete (as the layout will pretty much draw its own conclusions) and when I reach that tipping point I'll unveil it here.

Namely to get help from the community (and risk their wrath if something is wrong with it) and to satisfy a select number of people who obviously have been begging for this thing for a while now. :) (found one today - certainly is very excited)

Got hung up with some "stability" concerns on the mandible and saucer/dome section.

While I got them attached to the main body via the "cargo hatch" on side of the ship - I was worried it may snap the connection point on sheer weight.

May end up having to come up with cradle to help support the weight. Not unusual for a UCS scale model.

Next stop - the rear saucer dome section - that will be a monster in itself - then its coming up with fancy plating.

If i can get that far I may be inclined to reveal my little project as its rather simplistic - here's hoping.

My friendly quiet compatriots know the trouble I've been through lol - especially @Kdapt-Preacher - who recently cringed at my connection issues. :)

Stay tuned for more updates.
