These are some of the best pirate decals I've ever seen.

Especially those female decals are amazing.

They will make a fine addition to the The Great Pirate Torso Library.

Sidenote: All torso's on EBs should be posted in the MCW. So I will move this over, but only in a few hours :pir-wink:

Nice decals, indeed! :pir-sweet:

I'm using one of your militars for my PierMOC but watching your female ones I think I'll do some pirate ladies too... LOL :pir-wub:

Wow i am very thankful for your kind words!

Yes these are already in the MCW... i brought them over as they were made for this audience...

speaking from experience many pirate forum members rarely venture to the MCW...

this is a bit of shameful self promotion i am afraid :pir-sick: however i also do not want the creations to go to waste, and for those that they were made for to be given a chance to find them... for them to make the library will be an honour, i just ask you wait for Imperialshadows and my self to change the colours to those found in the official Lego range!

yes these ladies are quite stunning!, imperialshadows had a great base for city orientated females, why on earth would we want our pirate mates to miss out! Thank you for using one of mt decals, i am flattered :pir-blush: ... where is the blushing pirate con?

We wouldn't, but you did. :pir-wink: The pirate versions ended up in my Generic Pirates thread from the beginning of May. I joined the staff the next day and never came back to them, thanks for the reminder!

I've reorganized my Brickshelf, which is still unmoderated, so I'll have to link you in to some samples. They aren't appearing in the thread. Ultimately, I only ended up with two generic female pirate torsos, but I was trying to realistic as opposed to sexy (well, a little of both), so no halter tops there.

and six male versions, mostly just colour variations:

vest1m_yel.png_thumb.jpgvest2m_blues_yel.png_thumb.jpgvest2m_blu_w_yel.png_thumb.jpg

vest2m_grn_w_yel.png_thumb.jpgvest2m_red_w_yel.png_thumb.jpgvest2m_tans_yel.png_thumb.jpg

(Visit the Pirate Gallery for full sized versions)

They came about as part of a plan to make a series of Pirate Princesses, real life female pirate captains. I did one, but it wasn't a custom, just carefully selected stock parts. I did make a flag for her, however (prints on a 2x2 flag). Once I finish some other things, I'll get back to them as well, if there is interest. The two generic females actually match known female pirates, I just haven't completed the process yet.

The first failed versions ended up as halter tops and then the biker gang you referred to.

(See halter gallery or biker gallery for many more)

As you can see, sometimes one thing leads to another, even if it isn't what you intended. Some of them would be very easy to make pirates out of, and I may do that in time.

Your next lesson will be in making something completely new. Taking a new idea, and making it real. Modifying other decals can be a fun diversion, but starting from scratch is the exciting challenge! Your assignment is to go to google and look up pirates. See how they looked, then make one. A whole new torso.

Are you up to it? :jollyroger:

hmm, might be slightly a head of you there my decal Guru... visit the MCW and look for my warhammer decals...

made from scratch and took me ages... my real need is to be able to put your official colours into my paint... do you have the RBG mix of each colour?

however, a request from my Guru must be met! off to Google i go... please also note the care taken in making sure it was clear most of the work had been done by you! btw that one you included in your post was based on a not so g rated pirates movie i found once googling pirate female... i suggest/demand only 18+ (or what ever the local legal age maybe) look into what i took it from... i hear its a good movie and is available in a more appropriate rating. :pir-wink::angry::pir-wink:

Ah, excellent. I know nothing of warhammer though. :pir-sceptic:

If you check my chart closely, you'll see a code at the beginning of the third line of each colour, something like 1B2A34. That is the code (in that case, red = 1b, green = 2a and blue = 34). Oddly, that sample is black, but as much as LEGO insists they use that for their black, I just use plain 000000 and it looks better (and prints more reliably). I use their black as highlight when I need something black but shiny, or want to border 000000 black in something similar. I used it for tuxedo lapels, for example.

You have given fair credit indeed!

I see. :pir-devil: PM me that movie information, please, I will do the required further research. I mean, I want to make sure I avoid it. Uh huh. Don't worry though, we're an adult site and all over 18. We agree to that when we register, so I trust it's true.

I can see where a search for "pirate female" leads to some interesting, albeit inaccurate representations. Despite my penchant for the sexy in some creations (you should see a Princess Zelda/Elfgirl I'm working on), I actually like to keep my pirates accurate, so I'd avoid all but the most historically documented represented styles. In reality, most female pirates hid that fact as much as possible, which goes against the generally lusty way we'd like to view them. :pir_kiss:

I liked that specific torso because I've seen that exact look in real life, so it struck me as accurate. Maybe more accurate for a serving wench in the Jamaica Inn, but still good for the period. I may have to try my hand at a few of those (hmmm, I credit me inspiring you inspiring me? :pir-laugh:).

Keep up the good work! :jollyroger:

I am first to admit this may not be accurate but it a true example of what we assume of pirate captains of the age...

link is to picture far to large to post here...

and here is the custom decal...

pirate_captain.png_thumb.jpg

once again link to larger version, although this one looks best in small format due to the lacing effect i have used on the neck apparel (do not know proper name...)

does this pass your test my Guru...

thanks for explaining the code to me! i am now in the process of getting my paint set up for custom decal Lego colour friendly!

I like Elfgirls... :pir-cry_happy::pir-blush:
