Heeck Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 This is probably a joke, but here: Wow. I'm just stunned. Either this is a trick to boost this "agassi" guy's feedback, or somebody REALLY wants this set. :o

Governor Mister Phes Posted July 14, 2005 Governor Posted July 14, 2005 I check the bid history. 3 of the bidders have zero feedback so they're new accounts... Stupid newbies... Or accounts that the seller is using to boost the price of the auction... We may never know... However, if the seller was to be watched closely, perhaps the item will be relisted or something will go wrong the with auction. Or maybe Agassi just got really lucky... However there are currently no MISB Eldorado Fortresses on BrickLink or eBay at the moment so maybe there are some collectors with too much money that want one desperately to complete their collection...
Heeck Posted July 14, 2005 Author Posted July 14, 2005 Yeah, and Eldorado Fortress is pretty sought after, I suppose. Before I got mine, I'd never seen one MISB or MIOB w/sealed contents. Still haven't seen any since. If this is the real deal and somebody is actually going to pay that much for it...I wouldn't spend that much on one single set, and this is a used set. Suspicious. I have seen people boost their feedbacks while getting a good laugh in the meantime do something quite similar, so it just may be a false auction. But, you never know....

Even if they were just trying to "boost their feedbacks", would they not still have to pay eBay fees on the final price? Which, if it is over $600, wouldn't that be quite a tidy sum? Life is Good.

I tought it was only 10p, thats the UK version though :/
jonfett Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I tought it was only 10p, thats the UK version though :/ It's 20p for a basic listing, extra costs for extra features. Then I am sure that there is some sort of fee to pay if you sell, a % of the final cost. But I am not too sure as I rarely sell on eBay. Jon.
Hobbes Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Here are the fees - it'll be quite a sum he will have to pay for not selling anything if he really boosted his own auction. I got my Eldorado Fortress without the box but with unpunched instructions. The instructions were in pretty good and the bricks in close-to-perfect condition (which surprised me positively). I paid 35 euro for it (it was a "buy now" auction). In such a case I gladly pass on the box... Why don't I ever find stupid buyers like that... :|

Thanks Hobbes, that's what I meant... & according to the figures available now, he/she will be paying about $30 (in fees) just to boost his feedback, assuming that is what is going on... which seems crazy to me... but there are some out there ;) Life is Good.
