Captain Braunsfeld Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 (edited) Outside of Pontelli. Tuesday afternoon. A small path leads to a shed next to a field. Well-known merchant Slim Shady approaches a guy working on the field: "Oi, squire!" Man working on the field: My name is Mike, Mr. Shady: Well, well, Mikemister. Nice to talk to you. I'm here on business. Mike: What do you want? Shady: Well, I happened to see that you are growing one or two tulips here. Mike: Well, that... Mike: ... might just be... Mike: ... an understatement. Shady: Well, what I wanted to say is that you, Mikemister and the other mechanics here are working on a really fantastic plantation. Mike: Yes, we call it the first LTP. Shady: LTP? Mike: Yes, "Large Tulip Plantation". Shady: Fascinating. I am fascinated. And I want to buy your tulips. Mike: How many do you want, one, two? Shady: All of them. I am buying all of them. Mike: Wow. Oh, I see. That is beyond my paygrade. Shady: Which means, Mikemister? Mike (pointing to the shed): Which means that you must talk to the boss. Shady: So, you are not the boss. He is inside the shed? Mike: Yes. But he actually has more than one shed. Shady: Two sheds? Is he by any chance two-sheds Jackson? Mike (shakes his head and turns to the shed) Boss, could you come out, Sir? There is a gentleman wanting to see ya! Shady later told the story: So there I stood, in the middle of this extraordinarily large plantation, waiting to see who was the man in charge. And then, after what seemed a small eternity, the door of the shed slowly opened and - much to my surprise - ... Spud The Viking Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Another nice build and story! Almost reminds me of Animal Crossing with the lines of flowers and the little shed! Quote
LM71Blackbird Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Large indeed! I'm going to have to borrow that tulip design in the future. Don't know how I never saw a flower design like that. Quote
Capt Wolf Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 I wondered how long it would be before we saw a tulip plantation. 3 minutes ago, LM71Blackbird said: I'm going to have to borrow that tulip design Me too. Already on it! I'm just hoping I can get my little vig built that references this whole tulip thing before the story reaches a conclusion! Quote
NOD Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 (edited) Mikemister It looks nice to see so many tulips. Again, an interesting continuation of the story. Maybe the Plantation belongs Ismael Oldton (the guy who wants to introduce a new currency)? The Plantation could force a new currency. Edited October 24, 2021 by NOD Quote

I am hooked just by the choice of words like "Slim Shady" and "Oi, squire"! You surely plucked A LOT of levers to make those tulips, Mr B! Edited October 25, 2021 by blackdeathgr Quote
Fraunces Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 Very nice plantation my friend! Warms my heart as a Dutchman myself ;) Quote
Maxim I Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 Very cool plantation :D My guess: it will be a monkey who runs the plantation :D Quote
Kai NRG Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 So many tulips! It looks quite lovely, actually. I wonder did you start the story because you had so many tulips, or did you buy the tulips because of the story? Don't worry, the story is just entering the "middle section". On 10/24/2021 at 6:06 PM, NOD said: Mikemister It looks nice to see so many tulips. Again, an interesting continuation of the story. The guy will definitely return. But is he the plantation owner? On 10/25/2021 at 11:53 AM, blackdeathgr said: No need to read more. I actually started working with pincers as the levers did not want to be plucked. And then I used tweezers to repair the tulips when something had come off again... I am happy that you like the humour of the story On 10/26/2021 at 2:46 PM, Fraunces said: Very nice plantation my friend! Warms my heart as a Dutchman myself ;) Graag gedaan! In my storyline? Would I ever? What I can say, is, it will be someone aristocratic. On 10/27/2021 at 6:07 PM, Kai NRG said: So many tulips! It looks quite lovely, actually. I wonder did you start the story because you had so many tulips, or did you buy the tulips because of the story? I wanted to start the story and so I ordered hundreds of levers on Bricklink. It is getting hard to count but for this build more than 300 levers had to be "plucked". And tediously attached to those green thingies (and they tend to fall off again). So this MOC has a very high part count (is that the word? "part count"? Sounds more like some nobleman) Edited October 29, 2021 by Captain Braunsfeld Quote
