[COR-FB] Sea Bird Viewing Point, Wullham

Elsabeth Stockton was bored. She had been in Wullham for a season and while taking entrepreneurial steps to financially back a Mushroom grow house had kept her busy for a time, she missed socializing with other gentlewomen the way she had while back in Belson.

In an effort to stoke the fires of society in Wullham, she had her servant deliver copies of a note to all of the esteemed houses in town. In her note, Elsabeth invited the young women of the area to join her for an adventure to the coast.

She next visited Reginald Brewerfrump at the Museum of Antiquities, where he had recently been made curator. She discussed her plans for an outing and he suggested a picturesque headland to the south where they could observe a great many sea birds in their element. He volunteered to lead the party the following week.

When the time came for the outing, she was pleased to greet six other women of the town for the short field expedition. They hiked up their dressbottoms and headed for the coast!

It is beginning to feel like autumn here in Colorado so I wanted to make a fall-inspired build.

A really nice build. Both the autumnal colours and the collection of birds work really well. And it's a really nice idea for an educational build. Kudos!

A very beautiful autumn landscape! I like the rocky coast and the birches. Great selection of girls minifigures.

Excellent idea and writeup!

Duplo are always great as a filler (provided you have the right colors ofc). 

Also great minifig choices. Bring more females (a' la the king's daughters) to the BOBS universe!

After seeing @Thomas Waagenaar's digital seagulls in his bridge build, I figured it was time for some birds!

Those are a lot of seagulls haha!

My only minor complaint is the exposed hollow studs on the inverted slopes for the rocks.

Looks good! Really liking the fall colours, and the white birds make for a really nice contrast.

 

I agree with Spud though, perhaps plating some of them or adding cheese slops over the hollow studs would have looked nicer.

Thanks! Yeah I hadn't found a reason to use all of the seagulls in a single build until now  Most of the dress minifigs are stickered, but I think they are era-appropriate.

Thanks! Went with dark bley to increase the contrast with the white birds

Ah hah! You guys noticed! I used plates, tiles, and slopes to cover most of the open studs on the rocks but left some key ones bare to represent strategic rock faces that had been weathered away by acidic bird poop. It's a weird natural phenomenon I noticed while visiting rocky coasts in Maine. Ideally the bricks would have been splattered with White-Out but I wasn't ready to commit to that

Really like those trees and the foliage!  The ground colors work really well for fallen leaves too, and that's a great collection of birds and of dresses!
