He was bleeding more than he'd thought, but tried to shake it off. "Getting too old for this", he grunted. Cocking his gun with a fresh plasma round, the Chimeran aimed at the tank once more to deal a final blow in case Polaris wasn't able to finish it. In the corner of his eye he tried to keep track of Lars. Hopefully taking out the creature would free Lars from its grip. He grinned and turned to Varen: "You'll be sipping margaritas on the beach again in no time, man". "We got this."

"Shoot man, it's been a while since I got this banged up." "I'm still the mission leader, Polaris", Felix dryly stated as she told him to check Varen. A slight smile quickly surfaced however. "Gotta admit though, I do like the enthusiasm and initiative you're showing here. You did well. You think you can patch him up?" He fumbled in his pockets, while making his way to Lars and Polaris: "If the Nanite Elixir don't work, I still got this Plasma Potion", he said and started to cough up some blood again. Felix chuckled. "Heh, could probably use one of those maself, but I promised the lady we'd bring this guy back. And I do intend to fulfill that promise." Frowning rather seriously, Felix checked to see if he could find out something about the shape Lars was in (Insight check to see how "stable" or "mentally there" Lars is?). "Lars. Lars. Do you know where you are?"

"Now, I got a question: how safe are we now that the thing controlling Lars is gone? How stable is the system? Can we know what else could be infected? Lars, when you're feeling a bit better, think you can answer those?"

"Not sure how much I can help. I was assigned guard duty of the warehouse. Every once in a while, I'd feel a tug on my consciousness. As if something else knew I was here. Eventually the tug became more of a compulsion and I found myself wandering the warehouse inspecting the data cubes. It was if something had burrowed its way into my mind and started steering me around. When I came across the tank, it felt terrifying and wonderful at the same time. It felt like... like... home. This was the creature that was calling out, the creature that desperately was trying to make contact. Next thing I know, I'm battling you lot... Sorry about that... and then after you defeat it, if tries to flee back to where it came from or at least to move its mind to a safer body. If you want to give me a few moments I can probably do a little more investigative work and tell you more. The presence of the creature though, makes me suspect that Lupin Biotechnologies is interested in much more than simply curing diseases."

I guess Lars should go first, then Varen since he got hurt the worst out of us. I don't know if Felix wants MILES and me to leave before him, since he is the only other one with any experience with this place.

The scientists here were studying this creature, it called itself the ਡਾਰਕ ਹੋਸਟ, or The Dark Host, thankfully they kept it mostly sedated. It was pulled from another sphere of reality... not unlike the one of my ancestors fled... perhaps the very one. Because of the creature's strong psionic tendencies they were attempting to mimic its biology... perhaps ascertain whether they could... could... transplant the consciousness from one Ætherdiving individual to another. I'm not sure of their motives or how they learned of the creature in the first place, but this is all very worrying. Interactions with other spheres of reality is dangerous enough, but to that purpose..."
