Cyclonis Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Hey, half-cats! I'm not a big fan of Bionicle, but I flogged these from BZP: OH GOD THOSE MINIFIGS SUCK! Moving along, however... set under construction: Ugh..so many new colours. Gross. Hmm, this looks very Megablok-ish. -Cyclonis. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 12, 2005 Governor Posted July 12, 2005 Ahhhhhhhh... Galvatron's Armada has something to show us. Well done! But what's these yellowish things on the BURPs? Are they Bionicle eggs or something? But ICK!!! The stickers aren't the same colour as the plastic - like they are displayed on the box. FALSE PRODUCT REPRESENTATION ALERT!!! Degradation of LEGO quality has been identified! There better be a warning on the box that the contents may not be identical to what's pictured, otherwise there's gonna be strife! Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 This effect is the same with all sstickers. Since the stickers have a high gloss coating, light reflects off the stickers more than the bricks themselves, causing the optical illusion of different colors between the stickers and the bricks. Governor Mister Phes Posted July 12, 2005 Governor Posted July 12, 2005 So hypothetically... If I was to purchase this set, the stickers would be identical to those displayed on the box? Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I'm not sure, but hypothetically, yes. TLC's stickers are very close to the color of the bricks. If you look at the unapplied stickers, they seem like the same color, but when you look at the applied stickers, the color varies... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 12, 2005 Governor Posted July 12, 2005 Ahhhh... But I was looking on the box, and on the box the stickers matched perfectly. The discrepency between colour was quite noticable in the photo. Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 They edit the photograph, of course! ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 12, 2005 Governor Posted July 12, 2005 Really? How do they do that? Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I meant that TLC (not the owner of the set) uses photo-editing software to perfect the box photograph. If you are wondering about the color of the stickers on the owner's photograph, that is explained above. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Hey for bionicle that set looks kind of cool. Some nice pieces in there. But those minigigs... *sick* MIght pick this set up for the great pieces though *satis* Quote

Supreme Oompa Loompa Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Bionicle Zone Power But yeah- I'm not gonna get this set, doesn't involve too many good parts. Though I am getting two of the other three playsets ^^ | Remember | Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 13, 2005 Governor Posted July 13, 2005 Someone get this set and tell me how the stickers look in real life... Quote
The Middleman Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Someone get this set and tell me how the stickers look in real life... If you're upset about the stickers, you could always not apply them. Personally, I think this set is the best of the lot - four rock faces, albeit in new dark gray (things like train track and mountain pieces should stay the same color, but unfortunately that's impossible). I hope more regular LEGO sets start using mountain pieces in these numbers. Quote
Dark_Avenger Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 When the first image of this was leaked, I was expecting it to be $20 tops. But honest to God... $40?! No thank you. Quote
