I wonder when the filling off the studs started as there we're studless beams in 1986 (the crane arm and the Techfig legs)?

I have immensely enjoyed Lego for over 57 years, but Technic is my absolute favorite theme. I was thrilled when it came out!! Thank you Jan and Sten!!!!!!!
