iamded Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 I finally got the Troll Attackship today (which is sweet by the way) and I noticed the Crownie's helmet (the one with the movable visor) looked a tad strange. Not something entirely obvious, but most definately not exactly the same as the other ones. The pointed part on the nose was extended a little, which made it look just a bit weird. Here's a MS Paint image I've done to try to get the picture across. The front view is more square than pointed as well. So my question is, has anyone else had any helmets like this? Is mine a special one? Will that be the standard from now on? Any info is appreciated. Oh, and if this belongs elsewhere (like General Discussion), please do move it, thanks. Peace ~iamded Quote

JimBee Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 sorry, i fail to see much of a difference. im guessing it was a slight mold mistake, causing yours to have a slightly pointier nose. But for the most part, they look the same. Quote

Dragonator Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 That is quite a big difference for it to be a moulding error. It looks more like a new piece. The new bit is exactly the same width as the normal nose piece, and it finishes in a perfect flat end, so to me it seems like TLC has once again decided to change the moulds for some reason. I'm not entirely sure whether I like it, it seems to ruin the smoothness of the older style. However I'll wait until I see a real one before I start judging it. Quote

Well, I thought it may have been a molding error, but it seems a bit to perfect to be an error. Perfect width and corners and what-not. Not a big difference, but still definately a difference. KimT Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 It could be that LEGO has changed the mold and thus changed the design slightly. A mold can only make a certain amount of bricks before being taken out of the production line. So the previous design might have had certain flaws that has been improved with the introduction of a new mold. Just a thought. KimT Quote

Faramir Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 I see the difference! It looks just kinda like it got slightly elongated somehow, I think it's just a mistake. I think that there have been a few piece mistakes in the new castle series. In my tower set a flag was somehow reversed... I'll try and post it, it's hard for me to explain too Quote

Peace ~iamded I've purchased 25 sets of 7009 Final Joust and have gotten (8) of them so far and I don't like them. So no, I don't think there that rare......So now i have to go to bricklink and buy some replacements. Booby Quote
