xenologer Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Check out these awesome Mars Rover wheels. See the Flick Fire Missiles? Quote
Batbrick Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 I love you! For showing me such an effective use which can be expanded on! Batbrick Away! Quote
iamded Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 (edited) That is indeed an innovative use for those annoying 'play features'. I believe it was AmperZand who suggested they could also be used for torches (the medieval type). Very clever indeed. ~Peace Edited June 6, 2008 by iamded Quote
Brainbox Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Neat. And of course, there's no danger of the rods falling out because of the wheels. Now I need an excuse to use this technique... Quote

Actually, since these are designed to unclick easilly. at times they can work inwards a little, letting the inner hubcap of the wheel brush the chassis leading to friction my fix for this is to leave a tiny gap so even if the hubcap locks up the wheel itself rolls independantly. but this is an annoyance.... Yeah, I guess. I don't know if there'd be enough room left for the outer hubcap, but could you put a spacer of some sort between the wheel and the technic piece the axle is joined to? That would stop the wheels getting stuck wouldn't it? Quote
Tom_castlefan Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Haha very nice technique. Interesting how us lego builders come up with such ideas. Tom Quote
