That is indeed an innovative use for those annoying 'play features'. :grin: I believe it was AmperZand who suggested they could also be used for torches (the medieval type). Very clever indeed.

Neat. And of course, there's no danger of the rods falling out because of the wheels.

Actually, since these are designed to unclick easilly. at times they can work inwards a little, letting the inner hubcap of the wheel brush the chassis leading to friction

my fix for this is to leave a tiny gap so even if the hubcap locks up the wheel itself rolls independantly. but this is an annoyance....

Yeah, I guess. I don't know if there'd be enough room left for the outer hubcap, but could you put a spacer of some sort between the wheel and the technic piece the axle is joined to? That would stop the wheels getting stuck wouldn't it?
