AmperZand Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 (edited) Nylon thread is sold under three categories: beading thread, invisible thread (what you used) and fishing wire. If using beading thread, it’s important to get the non-stretchy kind (unless you want your suspended LEGO to bounce). The other two don’t stretch anyway. I don’t know if the Command fasteners are reliable. I have rafters, so use thin nails (called ‘pins’ by chippies) that, once in place, I hammer so that the part of the nail that isn’t imbedded in the rafter is bent round. That ensures the nylon thread won’t slip off the end of the nail and that I won’t hit my head against the nail either! Unrelated to suspending the LEGO, I have to point out that you really, really want to relocate your collection. It’s under a skylight. You should never expose LEGO to sunlight if you can help it. It catalyses the degradation of LEGO causing it to discolour and maybe even crack/lose its structural integrity. Edited January 23, 2021 by AmperZand Quote
Vindicare Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 I have a couple things hung up, I just use fishing line. I have small things so they’re just held in with thumbtacks, but I had the old airplane from the airport hung & I screwed a small hook up there to hang it from. Quote
