ralphie Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 I’ve never been satisfied with anything I’ve made using Power Puller tires, so here goes. What other shock could I possibly use but these? Miniguns are engaged by lowering them, which connects them to the drive train. Turbine engine with planetary reduction. Done with a stack of gears using the new red diff gear so every other gear is fixed, just like the real thing. I noticed a bit late that I was supposed to make this post, so I’ve failed to document a lot of build progress. Still needs a steering wheel, instrument cluster, and some sort of kick stand. Miniguns could also be a little further from the ground when stowed so the bike tips more. Surprisingly, it balances quite well by itself. Maybe also a Wookiee should be driving. Quote
chlego Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Looks massive, and aggressive! Would love to see some WIP pics, are some available? Quote
ralphie Posted January 20, 2021 Author Posted January 20, 2021 I haven’t taken any, but I can take some detail shots in a day or two. Without the driver or windshield, everything is pretty well exposed. Quote
johnnym Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 "Come get some! dakka, dakka, dakka..." What a lovely bike! I think these large figures could have the right size for my machine, too. Unfortunately I don't have any. Are these running under TECHNIC, what numbers do these have actually? Quote
ralphie Posted January 20, 2021 Author Posted January 20, 2021 They fall under “buildable figures” in bricklink. This one is mostly Jyn Erso 75119. There are a few for Marvel Avengers also. Quote
Seasider Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Looks like a mad machine. glad someone else has used a buildable figure for their scale. I’m going to post mine with and without figure. Quote

There are a few for Marvel Avengers also. Thanks for the information. Wow, I didn't know there were that many, already for the Star Wars theme alone. But I just notice that the tyres of the RCV are 94.8 x 44R ones, at first I assumed these were 81.6 x 38R ones which would have been about the size of the dragster tyres I am using on my bike. So maybe the figures are too big for my machine. Quote
ralphie Posted January 21, 2021 Author Posted January 21, 2021 (edited) Power Puller tires are significantly wider than even that, which is why they are hard to build with unless you are making a Russian truck. The buildable figures are a bit small for the Ducati, but too big for super cars. Tires from left to right: Power Puller (~110x66R), 107x44R, 94.3x38, 94.2x22 (Ducati), 94.8x44R Edited January 21, 2021 by ralphie remove extra text and end of comment Quote
ralphie Posted January 23, 2021 Author Posted January 23, 2021 Added steering wheel, headlights, instrument cluster, kick stand, tail pipes. Shown without plates for “frame” contest submission. Details of planetary, turbine, overall gear chain, and minigun clutch. It rides a bit low, and the miniguns point a bit down, but I’m calling it done for now. Quote
