Wiedi Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Hello, we got a Lego boost as a christmas present and the first days everything was fine. We build the robot and the guitar, yesterday we tried the cat and the move hub won't start anymore. When I press the green button, the white light flashes and after 5 seconds it turned in steady green. Then 5 seconds later the white light flashes and the hub goes off. I tried this with 2 compatible devices... I tried to reset the move hub by pressing the green button 10 seconds, the light blinks in violett and doesn't change the color like in the troubleshooting manual. Has anyone an idea how to solve this? Thanks Robin Quote
Tcm0 Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Did you check the batteries? Did it perform an update before that happened? Quote
Wiedi Posted December 31, 2020 Author Posted December 31, 2020 I changed the batteries twice and there was no update :-( Quote
akira4king Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 Hi, I have a similar problem, ours did a firmware update first though. Now it will not connect to any device... I have tried 3 android phones and the Nordic Semi nRF connect app and there seems to be no BLE signal at all from the boost hub. Has anyone else had issues like this / get it resolved? Lego is currently saying over a week to answer emails... Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated! Nathaniel Quote
Tcm0 Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 You can get into firmware recovery mode by holding the green button for about 10 seconds. The LED Dwill start to flash. Then you should be able to reinstall the firmware. Quote

When blinking, you then have to start the App to start FW-Download. Edited January 4, 2021 by Lok24 Quote

Lok24 Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 the first you only have when you recently had connected move hub (mine is called "Move Hub", the second only if a Move Hub with bootloader is detected. I just did load an update, App is 1.9.6, FW 2.0.00.0017 And it conects to tablet, as well as to the handheld. Quote

It don't connect to the handheld too... App version is 1.9.6 Where can I see the firmware version? Only if it's connected? Quote

Expand no, it has noting to do with the hub. It is the FW that the App contains to be install on hubs. Under "Settings" from start screen. When you have the window of alle Hubs open and press and hold hub button till blinking purple, nothing happens? As you have more than one hub I would suggest to reinstall app. Edited January 4, 2021 by Lok24 Quote
Wiedi Posted January 4, 2021 Author Posted January 4, 2021 I have the firmware 2.0.00.0017 too and installed the app new... nothing :( Quote
Lok24 Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 Hm. But you have two Move Hubs, both with the same error? Try a second smart device? Quote
Wiedi Posted January 4, 2021 Author Posted January 4, 2021 No have one move hub and tried this on two Android devices Quote
davidc01 Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 In case anyone else comes across this thread whilst googling, since this was the only place I found which detailed the exact same scenario I had. I ended up contacting Lego support and they've sent me a pre-paid return note and will replace the hub free-of-charge. They've said it is faulty. If there is any other way of fixing this, I'd be glad to hear about it. Quote
JamboForrest Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 I found instructions on another website which say that you torn off Bluetooth, start the app, and then connect. It worked right away for me. https://www.ikkaro.com/en/lego-boost-bluetooth/ Quote
