Yes, I found it quite surprising too. It's interesting to see what people vote for, but as for the why, it remains mostly cryptic to me. The only tendance I could decipher is a lot of voters tend to favor big, over-engineered mocs. The more parts used, the better, it seems.

Thank you for organising this contest. :thumbup::thumbup: It's been fun and it is nice to see so many great entries, although it hurts to deny points to most of them.

Just a minor observation:  It would've been easier to vote, if entries were numbered  in the entry topic, as they usualy had been. I also like the two stage voting. Good idea.

Best regards,

Miha

Thanks to the organizers of the contest, it was a pleasure to take part. I had a lot of fun building the motorcycle and learned a lot :)

As a newbie on eurobricks, I guess, I am lucky that I don't have to decide how to distribute the points among all the great entries ;-)

Good luck to all contestants!

I think that participants of the contest should be allowed to vote regardless the post count on the forum.

I absolutely agree. I will see that it gets built into the vote counter. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the consideration! However, I knew from the beginning, that I won't be allowed to vote. So it's fine with me if it won't be possible. I don't want to cause to much trouble/work ;-)

Thx Jim. I hope it is not to much trouble. I forgot about autobot doing the sum up. Wasn't ment to bring you more work.

No problem, it was a good suggestion!!

Go ahead and vote for your favorites. I will see what I can do. Won't be very hard to do an extra lookup in the names list.

(and most of the time, the results are the same anyway)

@Jim: Since we are talking suggestions on voting mechanics...

I was thinking of a way to make the two-stage voting a bit more accessible and less cumbersome. I came up with this idea: Instead of using the F1-style count on both stage 1 and 2, why not make stage 1 (more like) a poll (select your xx(10?) favorite entries). The 10 most chosen entries (just count the poll results) go through and then stage 2 would be a member voting round with F1 style points.

Calculating your points two times (and probably repeating most of what you did in stage 1) seems like a somewhat redundant effort... It would also bring some more excitement, as in the current setup it is already pretty obvious which entries will end up on the podium after stage 1.

I like the suggestion, but we do need to fix the broken poll first.

True that. Let's keep it in mind for next contests. I do like the idea.

If the poll isn't working by the time the next 2-stage contest voting starts, we could always start with members just typing their xx number of favorite entries in a regular post for stage 1.

But, the current setup works sufficiently as well, no need to rush anything.

I think you have got enough on your mind already while tending to the platform, so let's not unnecessarily increase the backlog...

Hehe true that, but thinking about new voting mechanisms is fun though

I have no hard feelings about voting, but hey, maybe if @BrickBuildingFox and I discuss the matter excessively, we’ll both have 50 posts by the time voting closes...

Either way, thanks for the fun contest. I’ve been lurking for a few years and finally got a dedicated Lego room, so it seemed like a good time.

I like this idea as well. Is there a way to hide the results until the contest closes so voters won't be able to see which model is taking the lead?

I will close the voting shortly (or at least try to do that).

There will be no second stage this time.
