LegoLars Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 (edited) I have a mystery for you! LEGO detectives needed! I found two of these in a box of old used bricks and no one seems to know what brick this is. It is old but not older than it says LEGO clearly on the studs. The height is like a base-plate. The material is rubber-like and it is very flexible. Difficult to say weather it has broken off something or weather the two pieces were once connected - I don't think so though, as it does look more like the little notch is just moulding residue (sprue). Its definitely not the 650 train coupling hinge (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=650#T=C), but probably a previous or later version of some sort of hinge. I Can't find it on Bricklink but probably didn't search the right places.Anyone who knows what brick this is and when it was produced? Set number, anything... neonic Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 (edited) Looks a bit familiar but .... It looks like a bit of those piece from many years ago. Two 2x2 pieces connected with a thin 'wire'. (about 10cm if I remember). What the use it was, no idea, but it looks like it. It also has a thing on the side, looks like something cut of. Sorry (it's late), didn't saw the link yet. It is indeed the thing I was thinking of. Maybe some newer/older version. Edited December 3, 2020 by neonic Quote
AmperZand Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 @LegoLars, I don’t mean to be ‘that guy’ and I make no pretence of being a mod, but there already is a thread dedicated to identifying parts. Quote
Toastie Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 (edited) @LegoLars, "it" may be a broken version of this one: https://rebrickable.com/parts/650/hinge-coupling-nylon/ They were used in some sets of that time (1960's) for example in the 1964 train set 323: https://brickset.com/sets/323-1 I just checked however: On my 323 the plates don't have these slits - no not it Best Thorsten Edited December 4, 2020 by Toastie Quote
