NOD Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 Art and Culture: Large A performance in the new theatre has just ended. The doors are already closed so you cannot see the building from the inside. Theater 3 by Philippe, auf Flickr The theater is very popular with the locals. The Black Flagged Sea Rats love to visit when they are on shore leave. Theater 1 by Philippe, auf Flickr On the ground floor is a large hall with the grandstand and spectator seats. The gallery with several lunches is on the first floor. Theater 2 by Philippe, auf Flickr Quote
Fraunces Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 In general , the vibe is okay. Just a little bit too big for a new Sea Rat settlement I think. The minifigs are well picked and I like the difference in the stones. Quote
Captain Dee Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 Neat design. That color scheme is certainly eye-catching and I like all the little variations in the walls. Pity we can't see the interior though. I didn't realize these digital programs could produce images (like the last one) with corrected perspective. That's, like, cheating! Quote
Kai NRG Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 This is pretty big. Nice work, would be awesome to have that many 1x1 round bricks in real life... Quote
Darnok Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 That's an impressive building, no questions asked! The style fits the era, the whole thing looks good to me. In terms of constructive criticism I notice a bit too much symmetry (bushes, palm trees), and wonder what makes the whole thing a theatre other than the sign on the front doors. Without that it could just as easily be an office building, factory or anything else. Also, as noted by Fraunces, why is a building of this size and purpose in a tiny settlement on an island that can not be found (unless you know where to look)? It would still feel slightly out of place in most settlements of City size. It feels pretty odd to me. Quote
JintaiZ Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 Wow, that is undoubtedly impressive! Like mentioned above, the size is a little big; but maybe that was the idea. Quote
Professor Thaum Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Rummaging around in the grass searching for my jaw. I was going to see Black Rock as a den of debauchery, violence and sin, like the pirates capitol in PotC. Perhaps a real mad scientist could explain the R&D center, but this time we have to search a mad dramatist bursting with dough. Quote
blackdeathgr Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 I really like it! While big, it ain't ugly at all! Quote

I think @NOD is challenging us rats to be civilized in our Pirate Capitol Refuge! Well done again. Quote
