LM71Blackbird Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 (edited) A Show of Resilience The lose of the mighty HMS Resilience was a hard blow to the moral of Her Majesty's Royal Navy. The devastating defeat to the Loti warships in a failed naval encounter resulted in one ship captured and the Lightning - which once defeated a fleet of 3 black-flag pirate vessels singlehandedly - being set ablaze and sent to depths of the New Haven Sea. The only solace was in the destruction of the Resilience by a small crew aboard a fireship. 20200921_183522 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Today, Mayor Brickford is out on one of the many piers of Quinnsville's always busy harbor with Captain James Earling watching through a spyglass the newly commissioned Ships of the Royal Navy, the HMS Indomitable and the HMS Thunderclap. May Poseidon grant them protection as they sail under the flag of Corrington and for the Queen! ----------------------------------------- A small Sistership build to use one of the two free sistership licenses that Corrington has won during Challenge III and to show off my new bearskin shakos! One license will be used to sistership the HMS Resilience. C&C are welcome and apprecieated and thanks for looking! Edited September 21, 2020 by LM71Blackbird Quote

Count Vroskri Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 (edited) Awesome, another Ship of the Line returns! Edited September 22, 2020 by Count Vroskri Quote
Mesabi Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 neat build, it turned out very well, and I like the technique you used for water. Nice bearskin shakos. I should look into getting them, though they're trending at about 5 USD to get more than 2 of them Wish Lego would actually put them in a set. Quote
blackdeathgr Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 (edited) Nice vignette. The trans clear bricks remind me of a stormy "foamy" sea. Also I was always wondering whether using this type of custom(?) fabric "coat" required minifig arms removal or not. Edited September 22, 2020 by blackdeathgr Quote

Still pricey, but a dollar is a dollar! 5 hours ago, blackdeathgr said: Nice vignette. The trans clear bricks remind me of a stormy "foamy" sea. You can take the arms off if you want, but the easy way is just to turn them behind the minifig, slide on the coat, then turn the arms forward. Quote
