Hey everyone. I haven't used Eurobricks in some time, but I wanted to share something I had been thinking

I've been following LEGO news for many years so I have noticed that the season we typically get the set names for the winter wave of sets has come and gone. Barring a couple of rumours (IE: Ninjago City Expansion which would be D2C), there has hardly been anything in the way of news for the 2021 winter wave. Is it possible that this wave has been delayed, most likely due to the pandemic?

For reference here are when we got set names in the last 3 years:

18-Late August

19-Mid August

20-Mid July

We've got names that it might be Elf Clubhouse, it just hasn't been revealed yet.

If the rumor holds true, I'd expect an official reveal soon.

Current sets being delayed in some areas of the world likely plays a role in LEGO not producing 2021 sets early.

Not just in US, it seems even European factories aren't back to full capacity as some sets are still missing or low availability.

Overall, I assume there, might be a smaller number of total sets in first half year of 2021 to catch up demand and current production.

I think introducing a few less sets for each theme is better then sudden retirement of current sets, however, it looks like Hidden Side might retire as early as the end of 2020.

And yet LEGO in their infinite wisdom is going ahead with plans to open an additional 120 stores.

46 of them are already opened. And why not, if they can open safely? Production is different to selling. If they can produce the stock, it is better that they sell it than someone else sell it.
