Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted May 25, 2008 Eurobricks Emperor Posted May 25, 2008 Bonaparte, during his conquest of Egypt, is making a tour of Giza just outside Cairo. It's very late in the afternoon and the Egyptian sun is about to go under. The Emperor likes this part of the day because the worst heat has gone. With his personal servant and some bodyguards he's standing in front of the Sphinx looking over the plateau of Giza and the endless desert. This is a modified "Sphinx surprise set" that I could recently acquire. I've build it now because I will be visiting Cairo (with the Sphinx and Pyramid's) in 2 week Quote
Fordo Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Nice scenery now all we need to do is have the French Navy not lose and leave us stranded, Viva La France! Quote
Hyphos Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Very Nice indeed. Is that kind of scenes that I like. I made a "Futurist Egypt" diorama, that you can see here. Again, Congratulations. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 I guess even an Emperor needs vacation, and what a nice place he picked! Enjoy your stay there buddy! Quote
Asuka Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 A sunny little scenery.... have some nice holidays! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 26, 2008 Governor Posted May 26, 2008 I've build it now because I will be visiting Cairo (with the Sphinx and Pyramid's) in 2 week Will you get time to see the real thing and take photos? Quote
I Scream Clone Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Cool set and modifications. I didn't even realize sets like this were around. Hope you enjoy Egypt. Just watch out as everyone will try to sell you anything, they even dump it in your hands and then say you have to but it. You will see quickly that you just drop whatever it is on the ground and walk away from the locals. Peace ISC :pir-skull: Quote
woody64 Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 (edited) That reminds me on the famous archeologic best seller, where the story of the stone of rossette from the Napoleonic Egyptian champaign to deciphering from Champollion is described. That was an amazing story .... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Invasi...gypt_%281798%29 (Maybe stuff for a vignette based on a painting ....) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Fran%C3%A7ois_Champollion http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gods%2C_Grave..._of_Archaeology Andreas Edited May 26, 2008 by woody64 Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted May 28, 2008 Author Eurobricks Emperor Posted May 28, 2008 Will you get time to see the real thing and take photos? I hope I'll have time. My visit of Cairo will not be for holiday, but business. However, I plan to arrive on Sunday early afternoon, so I'll have the rest of the afternoon and evening to visit the pyramids and sphinx. If I do, I'll take pictures and post in this thread. Quote
Capn Frank Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Ok i'm confused. Is this a slightly modded set or a MOC made to look like a set? I get confused easily Hopefully you don't get stranded there by the Royal Navy. Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted June 5, 2008 Governor Posted June 5, 2008 What happened to the mummies they were lurking about? Was it only Johnny Thunder who managed to resurrect them? Quote
SlyOwl Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 How does the emperor look with a kepi? Is this a slightly modded set or a MOC made to look like a set?I get confused easily Modded Adventurers set What happened to the mummies they were lurking about? Was it only Johnny Thunder who managed to resurrect them? Nope, Bonaparte built a wall across where the mummy can escape from and sold the coffin to ye olde Britishe Museum And what happened to your name? Phe$ - that'll confuzzle people... Quote
Kinzcove Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Thats a brilliant scene and the minifigures look like real people. Your army is the best out of everyones in this site. I wish you luck with your Napoleon army. I am a Napoleon fan myself. I also like the French revolution and studying French History. Good luck with the rest of your collection. Au revoir, Monsiuer Kinzcove Quote
