Hitec NXT Magnetic sensor on EV3

Hi,
I aquired a magnetic sensor but when I connect it to an EV3 it reports a sound sensor (and does nothing)
EV3 and cable are 100% okay and runs the lastest sodtware,
and a sound sensor works correct when I connect one.

Am I doing something wrong or is this sensor bad?

The "view port" feature is using, what is defined in the EV3 firmware. The EV3 firmware doesn't know the compass sensor.
